It was the first thread. That’s been the tradition around FR for quite a while.

Brokaw was also a class guy and yes you have to wonder who wil replace Russert. David Gregory, Brian Williams and Chris Mathews make me puke. Keith Olbermann!

Hillarys revenge. She executed her payback for him asking that question about the (then) New York governors (what was his name again?) law for drivers licenses for illegals. Russerts question at that first debate and Hillarys horrible answer started her slide into defeat. Rush asked that question of his radio audience before Russert asked it of Hillary, so Rush likes to take credit for it. Therefore, Rush look out! Hillarys on the warpath!
YIKES!!! That's RIGHT!! He did start her snowballing downfall... She probably had a Russert Voodoo doll!

“Hillarys revenge.”
That’s what the Clintons do to those who get ‘uppity’ with them. It serves as a warning to Obama too.

Never agreed with his politics, but this is a shock. Came out of the blue.

I remember seeing David Bloom on MSNBC a few days before he died and thought the same thing. He didn’t look good at all. Of course, he was out in Iraq in extreme weather conditions so that may have had something to do with his appearance.

What sad news! I feel so bad for his family; that’s way too young to die! I wonder if he’d been under treatment for a heart condition, or if it was the first, and last, time? Too often, it happens that way. Folks don’t know someone has heart trouble until it takes them, suddenly, and without apparent warning.

I thought I remembered Russert getting vilified by the uberlefties after that debate for “daring to ask such questions”. Honestly, that was the first thing that came to mind. That’s a pretty sad first thought but speaks to what we expect from the Democrats nowadays.

Yeah, he was liberal, but I actually liked the guy amazingly enough.
RIP, and prayers up for his family.

I wonder if NBC will pay him for a full days work today.
