Since Ireland is the only country in Europe that respects the will of their people, they obviously do not belong. Eject the Irish from the EU, so the rest of the nations can follow their unimpeded path toward fascism.

Did England go along to get along? If so, was it the Blair administration of his successor?

OK, it's time to make Ireland the 51st State.
I might even move there from my beloved Minnesota.
Cheers!

Guess the Irish still don’t want to be slaves. Imagine that.

Ireland was the only member to subject the Lisbon Treaty to a popular vote This speaks volume about the reason other countries had prohibited its citizens from exercising their right to vote on this issue.
Kudos to the Irish. Gives us all reason to want to be Irish for a day, other than St. Patrick's Day.

Be aware of this before you travel....The European Arrest Warrant
The list of 32 offenses includes ...racism and xenophobia,
As our readers are well aware, racism and xenophobia in the EU-speak have long included the nebulous thought-crime of Islamophobiaand my speech could be construed as paradigmatically Islamophobic by the drafters of the EU Framework Decision, and accordingly acted upon by the future users of the European Arrest Warrant.
...the Framework Decision defines a racist or xenophobic group as a structured organisation consisting of at least two persons established for a specific period.
This affects not only EU citizens, but also Americans who may say something here (or post something here to a website that is accessible to the EU) and get arrested over there, in an EU country, while on vacation. Believe it or not, the only people who could make this Lisbon Treaty come crashing down are the Irish, whose vote for or against on June 12th will make all the difference. I am hoping that the Irish will be the stubborn, proud and independent cusses they have always been, but the EU has poured a lot of money into Ireland to make the vote swing their way.
Lisbon Treaty, signed by all 27 EU heads of states or governments 13 December 2007, will have to be ratified by each Member State in order for it to come into force in 2009. Countries where the Treaty has been approved .

This would leave Ireland - the only member to put the mammoth, often-unreadable document to a national vote - diplomatically isolated but nonetheless wielding the power to prevent the treaty from becoming law and forcing a period of renewed negotiations. You can see while the other European countries didn't let their citizens vote.

Note the Irish economy is flourishing thanks to reduced taxes, contrary to the economic doldrums in other high tax socialist EU states.
