No word of how he got it-Team Barry isn't actually leaking to dKos, is it?-and naturally he misunderstands Jim Geraghty's point about Obama's place of birth, which would have been relevant not with respect to his "Americanness" but whether he was constitutionally qualified to run as a natural-born citizen. But here it is.
Update: Not that it matters for purposes of addressing Geraghty's concerns, but Flip notes that the posted document is a certification of birth, which is slightly different from a birth certificate.
The document South Austin Community Hospital issued at my sons birth some 23 years ago, is not a legal document according to La. laws.
This replaced an early digitek form (for which no one had purchased a digitek system). The new system is hot stuff and can be referenced nationally, or in state capitals, or even in local facilities all over the place.
I didn't know that, thanks.
Oh, right! Oops.
Mmmm - mum's the word.
;^)
In the US all of this sort of thing is rather centralized ~ in DC you have to go to a special building where there is no available parking, or apply by mail

When they were ‘shopping this they forgot to include an attending physician’s name in order to put to rest that notion. What were they thinkin’? Or smokin’? “Er... what were we talkin’ ‘bout? Oh yeah, that fish - no wait, uh, um. That’s right, the Obama thing, yeah. We gotta post this Birth Certificate thing for da man.”
I wish they would institute that system here. Almost every town has a library. It sure would simplify the process. It takes almost six week to get a BC back.
To be honest, I have no idea *what* that is. They’re claiming it’s a Certificate of Live Birth, which isn’t the same as an issued birth certificate. They may vary from state to state, but it doesn’t look like the ones we filled out and were filed, in order to get what most people consider the ‘real’ certificate.
Certificate of live birth looks pretty much like a death certificate, if you’ve ever seen one of those. Baby Boy/Girl Last Name, names of parents, mom’s maiden name, race of parents, time and date of birth, who delivered, state, county, etc. The delivering doc or midwife signed. These were done within an hour or so of the baby’s birth, with the info L&D would call down to us. This was then forwarded to Vital Statistics, along with the paperwork the nurses filled out upon baby’s discharge that had the name given by the parents. B of VS would then compile all the info sent to them into the official Birth Certificate- usually parents would be told that they could get the actual BC in a week or two from VS, since it would take a bit to get the info over there. All Certificates of Live Birth were Baby Boy/Girl, we never put the actual given name on them. It may be done differently in some states but I kind of doubt it, since most names aren’t officially registered on any paperwork until the day of discharge.
There are also Certs of Still Birth (sadly) that were filled out the exact same way. The delivering doc would come down later and sign the cause of death on it, since there is no separate Death Cert issued in those cases. Every birth, Live or Still, has its accompanying certificate. There is a signature - the doc or midwife - on the Live Birth/Still Birth certs but no stamp or seal. The doc/midwife signature makes it ‘official’. The stamps or seals are used on the official BCs. We only did it when there was a birth.
(I hope this is understandable...I’m tired!)
I know. I had to throw away a similar scarf, lest I be accused of wrongdoing ;)
Now *that* is a good question. But you'd have to see one of these, that a "Certification of Live Birth", from Hawaii, that you knew was legitimate, before coming to a final conclusion. Programmers do weird things, not surprising since they are almost uniformly weird people. :). (Don't look at me, I only do FORTRAN (II, IV, G and many later versions), BASIC and C/C++, although I've had classes in PL/1, LISP and PASCAL as well. I need to pick up C#, but since I'm not writing *any* code right now, there's no hurry. Also have used MatLab, whose language amounts to programing in matrix math, but then at some level creating a spreadsheet is programming too. :))
I hope this link works - this is very close to what we filled out at the hospital (obviously revised in 2003). I worked there from 1986-2002. What was filed in 1961 may be different, I dunno.

Another good point, but still we'd have to see a known legitimate example of one of these from Hawaii to be sure.
Every language I know has an UPSHIFT command when it comes to output.
These Obama jackals are laughable.
I have had a Louisiana Driver’s License.
I have had a U.S. Passport almost my entire life and have used it extensively as a child and adult.
As for my documentation proving my birth I have a card from the hospital that says “One Male Live Birth” with the date of my birth. I also have Naturalization papers from the U.S. Embassy in the nation of my birth.
No Certificate of Birth and I can get a U.S. Passport, a SS Card, a Texas drivers license and a Louisiana drivers license.
I even have a passport from the nation where I was born!
You can bet your bippy this would not be accepted at proof of eligibility for POTUS if this were a republican.
Also, in the comments, it notes that he has not been asked to submit a physical report - just a ‘note from his doctor” = why do we allow them to get away with this?
Someone needs to get a bone fide birth cert before this man is allowed any further.
Rather telling that all this speculation re this form's authenticity is on KOS
But the media et al are not demanding it - after all, it's not like he's ever lied about the circumstances surrounding his birth - sarq/
On it - my best friend was born in Hawaii in 1959 and just went through the process of getting a copy of her birth certificate for social security. I've left a message for her to call me and I will see if I can get a whited out copy or at least describe it in detail.
