I do not have a birth certificate and had no trouble getting a passport.

There may not be an admissions record for the mother.
If she didn’t actually deliver him in Queens, or any other hospital, but entreated to obtain a birth certificate for him, having a ‘homebirth’, she’d have to present him to a hospital for such.
You don’t take your newborn baby to the Statistics bureau for a birth certificate. You take him to the hospital.
Has Obama mentioned which hospital he was born in? Has either one of his grandmothers?

I was born at home and had to send to get a certified copy of my birth certificate in order to apply for S.S. The paper looks like that and it is dated the day I applied for it.

Different state, different technology at the time of preparation, different technology printing it out today, different reporting requirements, different, different, different ~ what people want is a modern certification that a birth certificate (which has a myriad of titles throughout the country) is on file with the appropriate state authority.
I bet you added noise, via some kind of filter, to the entire image after you were done, to give it increased uniformity.

Very strange indeed, which is what makes me suspect it's a fake.
Would it have been Obama's first choice to have kos publish this? I don't think so. The msm would have instructed him to use kos, for what reason I don't know but one could speculate that the "legitimate" media outlets would have been squeamish about representing this as something that it wasn't. They'd feel obligated to point some things out that kos wouldn't feel obligated to point out because their nonexistent reputation can't possibly be harmed.
But even as general interest, the release of Obama's "birth certificate" should be news worthy and worth a mention in the msm outlets. If it isn't reported in these outlets, that will be interesting in itself, considering the appetite for anything Obama in the media. You'd have to give a lot of consideration to why they would pass on the story.

For DC you go to the social services building and get a certified copy of the record of your birth that THEY KEEP IN THEIR HOT LITTLE HANDS WHERE NO ONE CAN HURT IT.
It was good enough for passport purposes.
Although there are some deviations from that system around the nation, it's worth noting that it's exactly the same as the most modern advanced birth certificate system on Earth, and that's the one in Malaysia!
They've used their oil money to fix the place up. This replaced an early digitek form (for which no one had purchased a digitek system). The new system is hot stuff and can be referenced nationally, or in state capitals, or even in local facilities all over the place.
