it might make more sense to do an e-mail/fax/phone campaign like we did with the ILLEGAL amnesty bill

That and the Dubai ports episodes proved that we can scare the crap out of the politicians without physically showing up in DC. That only works if someone prominent and popular champions the effort.

“Okay, DC and every state capitol. Easy enough.”

I think every state capitol is a great idea so more folks can join the protest. Count me and my sweetheart in here in FL. We should be able to get every Florida Freeper, family and friends to join in. :)

So you're saying we as American citizens have no pull, no power if we all band together? We need "someone prominent" to get the ball rolling....I don't believe that for a minute.....all WE need to do it fax, call, e-mail, it WILL work........

No that's not what I'm saying. To have a visible impact we need a LOT of people to participate. Generally this happens when someone highly visible champions the effort. Not required, but would help a lot.

conservatives are chicken and don’t have the stomach for such action. They will not get out of their ruts to save their own butts

There are very few things that happen in Europe that I would hold up as something worth comment but I will say that they do a bangup job of ginning up protests against the high cost of fuel. The Spanish truck drivers pretty much closed the border with France and brought the delivery of food to a virtual standstill. It sure as h*ll got the attention of the Spanish government.

It just might work here. I say give it a try.

So - homosexuals want their way, they show up en-mass and throw a fit.

A few thousand ant-gun liberal women can mount a major showing to rage against the US Constitution...

Jessie JackA$$ and company can organize several hundred thousand “men of color” to fill the mall in DC...

But we cannot get folks who’s finances are being destroyed to commit to something similar? Heck - the fuel prices have at least some affect on pretty much 100% of people, either directly when filling up, or through the inflation resulting from it (groceries, utilities, etc.).

Why is it deviants and idiots can organize by the thousands, and folks with legitimate issues cannot for something truly important?

How about this along with your idea?

July 4th is a national holiday. All federal offices are closed.

On Monday the seventh when they show up they find their place of employment surrounded by people bearing pitchforks, baseball bats and shotguns telling them they are fired!

Not enough of us can go to Washington, but we can all go to our nearest federal office building or courthouse. Millions more could participate locally who do not have the means to get to DC.

It might get a few of us killed but it will certainly get our point across.

I pledge my pitchfork and my life to the constitution as written.

Not to rain on your parade...if someone would put it together, and there is a real prospect of a truly large showing of people I'd be there.

Yes, that's the key. It must be a massive cluster of hundreds of thousands of pissed off Americans, otherwise it's all just talk.

They're holding us hostage by their inaction. Turnabout is fair play- this would hold DC hostage in return.

A date needs to be selected when Congress is in session, and when it would cause the greatest inconvenience. Starting it on a Monday would jack up their whole week.

It needs tobe picked up by talk radio and the blogs to take root. I'm just one obscure Freeper. Call your radio hosts and throw the idea out there. Post the link to this thread in emails to Rush, Beck, Savage, Hannity, Boortz, Coulter, Malkin, everyone.

This means you too, Levin!!

Someone suggested July 7th. Sounds like a great day to do it, as long as Congress isn't in recess.

When I think about it, the local riff-raff (no, not the Congress) would have a field day. Especially when you consider the Police, Fire/EMS would all be blocked, too.

No protest could inhibit emergency services or the city would look like '66 all over again.

I understand those copncerns, but we’re talking about the survival of America. It might get ugly, but that would only add to the pressure on these morons we’ve elected.

Got a link?

I know the Tennessee legislature got their bell rung several times over a proposed tax hike, when hordes of angry citizens descended on the capitol. Scared ‘em!
