National Security Advisor? Secretary of Defense or at least Department of the Army? Veteran’s Affairs? DIA or NSA?

Conservative politicos are figuring this out, so why aren't FReepers?

Duncan Hunter is a Republican politician and, unlike McCain, no doubt feels some loyalty to the Party and thus publicly supports McCain.

Republican and conservative voters owe no such loyalty to the Republican Party as it moves hard left.

Simple. McCain has convinced Hunter to back him and with Duncan being a party guy and all ....

Many conservatives aren’t convinced McCain should get our vote. That includes me.

For most conservatives, in the end it’ll probably be more a vote against Obama, then a vote for McCain.

Conservatives will do what they need to do to keep this country strong. Moonbats will throw temper tantrums and shout ANYONE BUT McCAIN!

Moonbats exist on the Right, too... Barr and Paul are leading examples, and you're making a good case yourself.

LOL. Let’s see what the Hillary voters will do. It was horrible (but fun) watching the way the dems conducted themselves. The wounds are very deep.

ANYONE BUT McCAIN!

Guess this independent voter who has voted Republican for 36 years is a moonbat too.

I think the GOP is going to unified big time come November.

If the GOP unifies behind someone with as many liberal/Democrat positions as McCain, it will be the end of the Republican party as a party of conservative values. From then on the Republicans will have to out liberal the democrats to get the votes of the 20+ million new poor, uneducated, government dependent voters McCain will insure in order to win another election. The Republicans will truly join the Democrats as the enemy of all that is conservative and right. Those that remain with the GOP will deserve everything they get including being on the wrong side of the battles to come for the preservation of our Democratic Republic.

See you across the battle lines.

Anybody that doesn’t agree with the Republican right or wrong crowd gets called a moonbat or worse. McCain is my senator, and he’s as big a liberal butt kisser as you get. I laugh at these folks who think he’s going to suddenly stop being a betrayer, a turncoat, and a “maverick.”

I hear you, and you are correct. A tiger cannot chnage his stripes.

And McCain’s liberal self serving stripes are well documented.

But, don’t tell the true-believers that—it makes them very small tent-ish, yaknow?

(OT) My great uncle was named Pink Bell. Your handle caught my eye because of that.

As to the topic at hand, I’m not completely surprised by Hunter’s endorsement of McCain. I see it as him standing in solidarity with the party.

However, I don’t think that he believes for a moment that McCain “will build the fence and be better on immigration.” Maybe he’s made up his mind that he’s going to hold McCain’s feet to the fire on his signature issue, and the very one that McCain betrayed us on.

McCain may also realize that he’s going to need Hunter, and that he’d better be willing to make certain concessions to gain his support.

Still ~ how does Hunter square giving his support to McCain, when McCain has publicly stated that he’s going to meet soon with La Raza?

It’s schizophrenic.....there’s a lie in there somewhere. He’s gotta come down on one side or the other on this.

Obama or McCain wins.

Doesn’t change what has to be done for next time does it?

Getting more conservatives into the hopper.

Let’s face it, we got distracted by the war, and we forgot to get conservatives into the hopper. A Fred Thompson popping up at the last minute wasn’t good enough.

If McCain picks a RINO, like Gov. Charlie Crist, I’ll probably write in Duncan Hunter’s name.

So you think that's what Duncan would do?

It all depends what happens with amnesty. If Obama is President he will back an amnesty bill, however, enough Republicans along with a few Democrats just might be able to stop it in the Senate. Republicans do seem to do better in opposition. If McCain is President he will surely back an amnesty bill. Senate Republicans will acquiesce becase he is the "party leader" and the bill will pass. Come next election, there will be millions of new, poor, uneducated, government dependent voters. This is a natural constituency for Democrats. Think of trying to win another national election with ten, or more, million additional Democrat voters.

No, there will be a huge change before "next time". The primacy of Democrats will ensure an unalterable march to socialism.

Elections do have consequences.

I will hold my nose and vote for McCain.
President B. Hussein Obama is too bitter a pill for me.

No sense cutting off your ears to spite the nose by not
voting against Obama.

Both Hunter and McCain share the view that we need to win
the War against the IslamOfascists.
Also both have Marine sons who have served in Iraq.

If the GOP is unified, they will have Obama to thank and not McCain.

I never thought I would see the day I was called a moonbat....and by a Freeper.

I thought that term only applied to the likes of Cindy S.

Well, moonbat it is.
I'm not voting for McCain and I'm deeply disappointed in Hunter right now.
