U.S. military planners are working on how to deal with another round of major cutbacks, in terms of budgets and manpower. This is because one of the major candidates for Commander-in-Chief (president of the United States), Barak Obama, has a video in circulation, of a short speech he gave earlier this year, about how he planned on handling the Department of Defense. His major points were;
"I'm the only major candidate who opposed this war from the beginning; and as president, I will end it.
"Second, I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending. I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of future combat systems.
"I will institute an independent defense priorities board to ensure that the Quadrennial Review is not used to justify unnecessary defense spending.
"Third, I will set a goal for a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material; and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert, and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenal."
There were major cuts when the Cold War ended in the early 1990s, and when Bill Clinton won the presidency. The same drill is expected if Obama wins, and military planners are studying ways they better cope with a new round of cuts.
Obama's speech can be found on YouTube. One version is at

Defeat Obama’s election, then resist McCain’s liberalism.
If I were the Pentagon, I wouldn’t worry about it. By September there won’t be enough left of Barry to put into a teacup. He is the definition of “UNFIT” Wait til everyone sees him without a teleprompter.
I guess I should be keeping options open. I foresee DOD contractors first in his crosshairs.
Scum is going to kill Americans IMO.
Obama the Manchurian Candidate waiting to install sharia law in the United States. What a great country we live in...............
We have to defeat Obama. He’s the culmination of leftist radicalism.
What’s distressing is that there was a time when a member of the American military knew he could reliably serve his country regardless of who was President. The politicization of the military is the sign of a banana republic at best, and a West African hellhole at worst.
Our military is now going to be subject to political pressure in a way that is more typical of African dictatorships. Bill Clinton was the first one to really regard the military as a target in his campaign, and the changes that he made caused many career military to leave. Bush, for better or for worse, left people in place even though they have proven to be disloyal to him and to the project. However, Clinton set the model for politicization.
Osama Obama will finish this project and completely politicize the military. This is not good.
That was said of Bill Clinton as well and look how that turned out. Unless gas prices drop back to $2.50 level by September, McCain is toast.
It is official. Barrack "the racist" Obama is a communist wannabe. These "I will" statements are nothing short of proof.
All these statements are ambitions to stop America from having defensive dominance. Yet, there is no teeth to any other country having these defensives. There lies the rub.
He must be defeated.
tagline bump.
If he had an opponent I could vote for and wouldn't be self-destructing just as badly, I might even celebrate this thought.
What's he gonna do when the Iranians say No, even with direct, high-level personal contact?
Another reason i wouldn’t vote for him
I’d lose my Job !!!
Everytime a democrat is in office i lose a good job just gives me another reason to dislike Democrats and their selfish political meanderings
The current Vice-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs while at the head of Strategic Command told Congress that precision conventional weapons have replaced the need for nuclear ones in almost all areas, except when a quick intercontinental strike is required against unexpected or fast-moving threats.
“While America possesses dominant conventional capabilities second to none, we lack the capability to respond promptly to globally dispersed or fleeting threats without resorting to nuclear weapons,” Gen. James E. Cartwright, commander of U.S. Strategic Command (STRATCOM), told the House Armed Services subcommittee on strategic forces on Thursday.

I guess that make him an Obama toady?
With who?
“Whom”
We love the objective case
Yep.
I like all the Freepers who think Obama is hunky dorey, or a good guy, or honest.
They should pull their heads out of their butts once in a while to catch a breather. If Obama becomes president, we’ll be wishing we had a President Hillary. He’s that bad. The folks who are resisting lining up behind McCain (and I understand them completely) will come around once they learn more about Obama.
I’m an opponent of the lesser of two evils argument, but I’m also realistic enough to know what a President Obama would do to this country.
