Nonetheless, is there any reason not to vote for Bob Barr in those states where one's vote isn't going to make a difference? I know some people say not to 'take chances', but there is no plausible scenario where Obama loses Illinois and yet gets 270 Electoral Votes. It would be more plausible (still unlikely) that McCain would come in third in at least one state, thoroughly disproving the notion that Republicans need to run to the left.
On ANYTHING, don’t believe Obama!
The Republicans didn't vote for McCain. Cross over Democrats and RINO's did.
You may know how I feel, but unlike me you are not willing to vote AS YOU SHOULD. You'll follow the pack right off the cliff.
This has nothing to do with being "bitter" and everything to do with being FED UP with a choice between "slow death and quick". I choose life...
I’m in MN. I’m voting Barr. This was the only State that Mondale/Ferraro carried in 1984.
BTW, the two party system makes it impossible for someone who wasn't nominated to get elected. Just ask Joe Lieberman.
Sounds like a problem with a Two Party system that could be overcome by simply not voting for either of them.
I don't think so, and if you vote in Obama's home state it's a sure thing that one vote won't make any difference no matter who it's for.
Downstate IL should secede from the Cook county metro area and become the 51st state. I have traveled over most of IL and found that the differences between the people in those two areas are like night and day, and not just in the political realm.
That may be true, but did they also vote for Giuliani, Mitt, and Huckabee? Those RINOs along with McCain also trounced Hunter and Paul in every state. The one or two conservatives in the race were never even close to the RINOs, and I can't believe enough Democrats crossed over to have caused that outcome. Also, many states such as FL don't allow crossover voting in primary elections, and IIRC the conservative candidates didn't do any better in those states than anywhere else.
We have to face facts, or at least I do, and a very unpleasant fact is that the GOP of today is not Reagan's party anymore. But the two biggies are the only game in town if you want to have a voice in who is elected at the national level. 1-1/2 million votes for a Libertarian candidate cost the Democrats virtually nothing because very few if any Democrats would vote for a Libertarian candidate to begin with. But the Libertarian nominee does hurt the GOP nominee because a significant amount of those Libertarian votes are usually cast at the expense of a RINO nominee such as McCain.
I hate having to vote for the lesser of two evils as much as anybody. But the lesser is still better than the worst, and Obama is by far the worst and most dangerous nominee I have seen in the 12 presidential elections in which I have voted.
Every one of the FACTS noted by the NRA-ILA has been well-known for some time yet at their most recent convention they added a Democrat congressman, Dan Boren - OK, to the board. This congressman is a superdelegate that is pledged to support BHO at the convention.
And people on gun boards wonder why more gun owners don’t join the NRA yet can’t see or excuse in some way this basic lack of integrity on the part of the NRA. I really don’t care if Boren has a 100% rating on key legislation or represents his district in its basic conservative nature. When push comes to shove, Nancy Pelosi and her fellow Rats will call the tune for Boren to dance to and dance he will.
“the senator’s expertise with Saul Alinsky’s methods.”
Obama has NO REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE of note, except for his experience in LEFT WING AGITATION.
This should give us SERIOUS pause. The man is running on Casar Chavez’s slogan, is a red daiper baby, and hasnt got clue One about the military, except his desire to disarm it.
His political movement,( and I say HIS accurately, for it is his messianic campaigning which infects the DNC,) is hardly a "democrat" movement.
The urge to win is so high among Dems , that they would grab any effective "Messiah" in order to attain power.
It is only a matter of time until we see the ugly side of the "emotion" which fuels fascist movements. I hope we see it BEFORE the election, and not after. The MSM will not be able to spin it, and Obama will lose the election.
It is John McCain's duty to ridicule ( fascism cannot stand ridicule), accurately criticize and seduce the display of reactionary emotion in Obama and in Obama supporters, so it will manifest for ALL to see. It is McCain's sacred task. But will he, can he do it?
Obama needs to be publicly treated like the petty sociopathic fascist he truly is.
Messianic politicians do not create unity and progress without totalitarian method. History shows us that. And emotion is the fuel upon which this movement runs. Set it on FIRE so it becomes uncontrollable. Result: Obama loses.
Didn't England try that and now the thugs rule the country?
Even less reason to continue to vote for them. If being "socialist-lite" is all we can expect from the GOP, then screw them. They don't deserve to exist any more then. This Country already has 3 Parties (Dems, Greens, CPUSA) that are overtly Communist.
No need to continue to support the GOP's slide in that direction.
Not only is he “not as conservative”, Obama is a stealth
communist! If Kennedy had served out his term, you would
have seen more “new deal”.
