That long red line to the left is just arriving at our residence, about an hour ESE of LaCrosse...and it’s already been an “exciting” meteorological kind of day.

I'm right next door to Romeoville. It skirted around us, headed just south and continued. We heard the Tornado sirens blaring in the towns all around us.

No damage here, mostly rain and some wind.

(I'm also a trained weather spotter and amateur radio operator, so I was outside looking at the skies while all this was going on around me..)

On there it looks like the most severe color in the middle did get smaller but then grew again.

I have family up in Sheboygan and in Chicago, although the Chicago folks look to be not in the path of the reported tornado, which sounds horrible.

NOTE: Yes, we should say prayers and hope our fellow Americans are going to get through it okay. But that doesn't mean we can't have a little levity.

Crap! My sister lives about a half a mile from Wright's home. I better call.

Tinley Park wasn't affected. Frankfort saw some of the storm, but don't think it went right over their heads.

The tornado touched down in Lansing, hopefully you hear from family soon.

CHICAGO — The National Weather Service says a large tornado is moving across Chicago’s south suburbs.

The tornado was on the ground between Richton Park and University Park about 6:30 p.m. and was moving northeast.

The weather service says the storm has created a “an extremely dangerous and life threatening situation.”
Residents in the path of the storm are urged to seek shelter.

Tornadoes have been spotted in parts of Livingston, Will and Cook counties.

A tornado watch has been issued for much of northern Illinois until 8 p.m.
