I read a line in an article yesterday that went something like this:
“Republicans for years have tried to convince
Conseravtives to vote for the lesser of two evils...”
“Newt is offering you a Platform For America! READ IT!”
Col Riley better read it too. Fruity Newt is on the gorebal warming bandwagon with the rest of the eco-twits!
I liked this, too. Not that the GOP/RNC will do anything with it, but it was an interesting read. Thanks.
What was that line...oh, yeah — want in one hand and **** in the other, see which one fills up faster.
Conservative “wants” are going to get short shrift because our “betters” think the way to success is to out Rat the Rats on borders, global warming, the budget, the war — you name it.
That is a true story, the Democrats have completely lost their way and did so years ago when they realized no one but goofballs listened to them and serious people didn’t respect them. That global warming is a complete crock and only a mentally deranged person would still ascribe to it or have the gall to try to convince anybody else to spend even one penny on it.
Yesterday, I sent a letter to the RNC saying that the only thing I’ll contribute to McCain is my vote, unless and until he gets off global warming, amnesty, and stops bashing corporate interests and Pres. Bush. I’ll contribute to my local candidates, but not to him.
"Conservative" would be to conserve our own, letting others blow through their oil reserves first, so we're the last ones with any easy-to-extract remaining.
So true.
I am old enough to remember some of it!
If they won’t listen to us during an election they NEVER WILL!
I hate it when I send money and then the politician goes off and does something left like. That just kills me. McCain is ignoring Conservatives for the most part (he did promise to put in justices like Alito and Roberts), but I agree with this premise of Col. Riley statements. We need conviction. We have heard promises during election year before and nowadays you need to be convicted to convince a lot of people.
And I want it to be known that I badword don't want a commie like Hussein in our White House. I am convicted to that. Because I am convicted to that, I don't want taken for granted of it. I am hearing pundits say that McCain should move to the left to pick up those Hillary voters. I am to the point that if we move one step closer to the left, I am going to badword walk away. I am not going to compromise my belief, principles, morals, or integrity anymore. Not towards the left, they never move towards me. Sometimes I think let them have it and mess it up even worse and we wil ltake it over in 2012. But then I think about the Soldier and Marine with their boots on the ground. If I were them, would I want McCain or Hussein? That will be what will get me to vote. But to get money from me, I need a reason to believe in why I am sending money. And to get me to believe in this party again, it needs to stop acting lick RINOs.
And McCain, as we now, is a spoiled brat (sorry, "maverick") who doesn't abide little people telling him what to do....
We can all “Wish” for Juan McLame to become a conservative.
But if you wish in one hand and crap in the other, at the end of the day, all you have is a hand full of crap.
Only when they go after him with pitchforks, and clubs.
Oh ... yes, I forgot, he will save our military & appoint "conservative" (wink wink) judges.
ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒE
I am actually serious about the CNC and mentioned it the other day on another thread.
My fear is that alot of the good guys/gals(conservatives) are going to be hurt by the lack of money being raised by the RNC. They would probably not give the money to conservatives anyway because they look poised to rid the party of conservatism.
We should start a list/voting guide of conservatives up for re-election or running for office in this country and start sending our money straight to their campaigns, by-passing the RNC completely.
It’s just a thought.
Obie, McObie, what’s the difference.
Very well done and undoubtedly well received here on Free Rep. But the arrogance of McCain and his contempt/disdain for conservatives means that he sincerely believes that we will be forced, FORCED to donate to, work and vote for McCain lest we allow the possibility of a Marxist in the White House. He is depending upon this. For he clearly and quite accurately sees us as far more concerned about the future of our nation than he or his campaign... something I guarantee he perceives as a weakness IN US which he fully intends to exploit. And such breathtaking cynicism on the part of someone who is purportedly more concerned about the well-being of the US and its citizens than his own power and glory will neatly place another nail in the McCain campaign coffin. Settling for much, much less and hoping things will somehow work out better than we expect later on has become too disappointing. We have gotten the republican party we have voted for and consequently, the party we deserve.
In any case, I think that if we just made it legal to drill, we would have more power to bargain with OPEC. We tell them that we are going to flood the market and make it 3 cents a gallon and I have a feeling they will find a way to pump more oil.
Col Riley better read it too. Fruity Newt is on the gorebal warming bandwagon with the rest of the eco-twits!
Yeah, this is where Col. Riley lost me. But, as we have all been told repeatedly by the McKoolaid crowd, "The perfect is the enemy of the good." So, it was a pretty good article.
I was so disappointed to see Mr. Newt on that couch with Pelosi. Conservatives have truly been thrown under the bus. Well, no matter, I'm putting monies I would have sent to the GOP/RNC to other, better uses.
For years I have had discussions at work and was able to get many to vote Republican. For these people the last straw was amnesty. They possess an emotional hatred for the pubbies that cannot even consider a reasoned argument. Everything they are against, is represented by BHO yet they support him anyway, b/c they don't trust the pubbies at all. And McCain was one of the leading causes of this problem. I have been a pubbie since 1964 and I am seriously considering voting for Bob Barr. Down ballot I will go pubbie. In the future I am considering running for office as a Libertarian. I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer nor do I have any knowledge about running a “campaign” however, anyone electing me can rest assured that I cannot be bought and I will work to defend and expand their liberty and freedom.
