You’ve decided it’s not the most important issue based on a general poll?

“You’ve decided it’s not the most important issue based on a general poll?”

Based on most polls that I have seen over the last few months....also based on regular people, family/friends that I discuss politics with. Face it, the war is “over there” and if you don’t have a loved one in it then you really have no connection to it and therefore it doesn’t affect you. Most Americans do not watch the news, so out of sight is out of mind. The number one issue in this nation right now and moving forward is the economy and energy prices. The candidate with a plan to fix those problems will win the nomination. Right now between the two Liberals running it appears a race to see who can possibly be worse on both subjects.

So far it appears a tie.

When I said the most important issue is the war on islamic terrorism, I was stating my view. That is, to me, the most important issue. I didn’t know you were answering on behalf of the country. I guess you also think the democrats are best equipped to deal with the economy, since that’s what the polls say.

“When I said the most important issue is the war on islamic terrorism, I was stating my view. That is, to me, the most important issue.”

Thank you for being honest.

“I didn’t know you were answering on behalf of the country.”

Wasn’t. Just sharing what I’ve seen/heard. Don’t like it? Bury your head in the sand, it won’t make it any less true.

“I guess you also think the democrats are best equipped to deal with the economy, since that’s what the polls say.”

Given what the Republicans did to the economy vis a vis spending when they controlled all three Houses, I don’t think that either party has a monoply on economic ignorance.

Thank you for being honest? What is that supposed to mean? I doubt anyone besides you thought I was speaking on behalf of the country. I leave that to you, apparently. Polls indicate stupid majority opinions on a lot of things. That doesn’t guide my values or voting decisions.

Are you ever NOT angry? Your cynical rhetoric is without purpose.

“Are you ever NOT angry?”

I am not angry now. I wasn’t angry when I last poted to you. I simply disagree with you.

If anyone wants to cheer me up, they can work like hell to invade the Republican Convention and DEMAND that McCain NOT be nominated! Nominating him is a disgrace to the true conservatives of the GOP that have gone before him.

“Face it, the war is “over there” and if you don’t have a loved one in it then you really have no connection to it and therefore it doesn’t affect you.”

When terrorist nations/groups kill and main our troops serving abroad, it affects most Americans personally (as it should). Would you like to elaborate on your apparently flippant comment?

“The number one issue in this nation right now and moving forward is the economy and energy prices. “

Can you explain why you believe that our success in the middle east has no direct influence on our economy and energy prices? Since you consider McCain and Obama the same, I assume that you are indifferent to the opposite strategies both men have regarding the WOT. For example, Obama wants to abandon Iraq. Iran, the worlds largest state-sponsor of terrorism, has publicly stated their goal to ‘fill the void’ if we leave. Al Qaeda has already stated their goal to make Iraq their base of operations for launching terror attacks against the U.S. Do you believe that appeasement is the best policy toward these foes or do you believe that our current confrontational strategy is best?

I agree that it should. Do you think it really does?

“Can you explain why you believe that our success in the middle east has no direct influence on our economy and energy prices?”

Gas is $4.27 at the station down the street. How much more success can this nation afford?

“Since you consider McCain and Obama the same”

I do not. I consider them equally dangerous, only in different ways.

I know, but that’s what should happen. Anyway,
he seems to be doing fine (for the moment) without
me or others he’s working against. I’m sure he’ll do
just fine with his Federal matching funds against a Billion
in liberal/foreign $ that Obama is going to rake in. Look at the $ the RNC is just ‘raking in’ -—it’s staggering, I tell ya! /s

Are you blaming our success in the middle east on high gas prices? If so, please elaborate. Do you believe that appeasement is the best policy toward the previous mentioned foes or do you believe that our current confrontational strategy is best? Also, since you consider both candidates equally dangerous, but in different ways, which of Obama’s policies compensates for his isolationist policies that you feel are better than McCain’s policies?

No, I am saying that the energy prices here at home, that ACTUALLY personally affect the average American are going to prove to be FAR more of an important issue this election than anything going on overseas.

I don’t consider either man to be any more or less disasterous than his opponent.

Al Quaeda? No appeasement, kill ‘em all. Why we went into Iraq? No idea.

Neither of these candidates is any better than the other. Anything else is just chatter.
