Lieberman-Warner Debate, Senator Rohrabacher: “Do you really think the world is filled with morons?”

I'm sorry, fellows. Do you really think the world is filled with morons? When it comes to bait and switch, used car salesmen are paragons of virtue compared to this global warming crowd. Excuse me. It's not the ``global warming'' crowd now; it's the ``climate change'' crowd. Of course, they don't want any of us to own automobiles; so what the heck. They can act like used car salesmen because there will be more jobs for them as being advocates in the climate change arena.

I'm surprised this did not get more attention. The congressman really gives it with both barrels in this speech.
It is fairly long but worth a read.

The Dems hope so. It’s the only way they’re able to exist.

My favorite motherinlaw is a big lib, but she asked to borrow my Thomas Sowell “Basic Economics” book... you can’t read and understand that book and remain liberal.
Anyway, I was explaining the state of most of the universal health care systems throughout the world and asked her if she assumed that the people running them were stupid and that it would be “done right” in America. She actually admitted that the government wouldn’t be the best entity to run such a system.

He and Inholfe, great advocates for the people on this issue! McConnell has been too. I am sure there are others, and to each of them I send a hearty THANK YOU!

I would like to point out that before the introduction of cattle, millions upon millions of buffalo dominated the Great Plains of America. They were so thick you could not see where the herd started and where it ended. I can only assume that the anti-meat, manmade global warming crowd must believe that buffalo farts have more socially redeeming value than the same flatulence emitted by cattle. Damn! Right between the eyes!

Rohrabacher is not a Senator, but I agree with what he said in his speech.

What an excellent article! I particularly liked what Rohrabacker said about Algore. As part of my effort to assist in building a “farm club” of congressmen who can become a conservative force in the future, I’m sending him a donation to his re-election campaign.
Thanks for the thread, Straight Vermonter.

I don’t think the majority of the people that are pushing this actually belive climate change is man made.
It is simply a vehicle to obtain money and power.
Captain obvious signing out.

Isn’t cap and trade based on Al Gore’s lifestyle? Live in a big mansion, fly in private jets, etc - and get someone else to invest their money in living “greener” to allegedly compensate.

How did this guy get elected from CA? He makes waaaay too much sense.
And did he really say this on the floor of the House?
“I can only assume that the anti-meat, manmade global warming crowd must believe that buffalo farts have more socially redeeming value than the same flatulence emitted by cattle.”
Wow. Just. Wow.

This is an excellent speech -- very well written & substantive. (Not that the last point matters in the era of Obamamania.)
One quibble: there are twenty odd populations of polar bears (not "species").
And, unfortunately, the world is filled with morons -- or, at least it has an abundance of them.
