WASHINGTON Both the top uniformed officer of the Air Force and its civilian leader have been asked to submit their resignations, FOX News confirms.
Air Force Chief of Staff Michael Moseley and Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne will resign by the end of the day, two sets of sources tell FOX News.

The extra troops helped, but were not the critical part. The same tactics were being employed successfully in Afghanistan without extra numbers. I’m not saying the extra troops were irrelevant, but Shinseki’s huge bump of extra troops were not needed and would not have been in any way the same as the surge.
I would also point out Shinseki wanted hundreds of thousands for Afghanistan. His error there hurt his credibility later.
Only time will tell, ‘cuz Gates didn’t.
