China will leave the USA in the dust as they have the swagger that the USA has lost. We can’t do Jack anymore. China is building Nuke plants at the rate of One a month going online and we haven’t built one in 35 years. Yes we will become 2nd rate nation unless we get leader who step up to the plate with a forward thinking energy policy.

The US has the world’s largest coal reserves, followed by Russia, China, India then Australia.

I’m warming up the Barcalounger for the televised coverage of the day the Greenpeace EnviroIdiots float one of their rubber rafts up the Yangtze river. I wonder if the ChiCom troops will sit down to tea with the useless hippies.

Oh, Oh. China is being bad again — how much is this going to cost us?

Doesn’t sound workable. If there’s anything that China is even more desperately short of than oil it’s water.

Mongolia?!!

I guess we all better start learning Chinese, and soon.

Thanks, enviro-wackos!

If we could send all the useless hippies to China, the ChiComs could have a real tea party. I'm sure they would know exactly what to serve.

“China will leave the USA in the dust as they have the swagger that the USA has lost.”

I think it is much more what China does NOT have.

- Trial Lawyers
- Environmentalists aka Communists Lite.
- A wholly anti-American political party.

Experts say the whole lifecycle releases about twice as much carbon dioxide

When we look back on this fraud 20 years from now, it will make the tulip bulb mania people of the 1600 seem utterly sane and rational. SO MANY IDIOTS, TAKING SO MANY DRASTIC ACTIONS, OVER A PHANTOM ITEM. Why don't they just say "You can't do 'that' because it will increase the intensity of the Martian ray beams aimed at the Earth..."

Doesn’t sound workable.

Germany did this during WWII to supplement their fuel.

Yes we will become 2nd rate nation unless we get leader who step up to the plate with a forward thinking energy policy.

For the enviro-Marxists and their friends in the Rat party, that's the whole idea. America uses too much energy and must be punished. High prices is one way to curb prosperity and reduce energy use.

If the gasification process is used where the sensible heat can be used by other processes it could be very efficient.

With modern day advances in process control and metallurgy this process should not be equated to the Germans or past efforts.

Not true. There are a couple of companies already involved in the product here in North America. In fact, one of them, Syntroleum, has been testing it on aircraft with the US Air Force.

The process is closer than you think for us.

I think it’s a great idea. They can use their coal and that will put less upward pressure on oil prices.

My philosophy has always been that we want to exhaust the commies’ energy reserves before we exhaust our own anyway. Or as I sometimes put it, “He who owns the last barrel of oil will rule the world.”

"Environmentalists say that rather than invest in a process that will probably never be environmentally sound, China and other countries should move towards running cars on batteries rather than liquid fuel."

And you dispose of those spent batteries how?
