Three seniors at Bloomington Kennedy High School will not be allowed to walk in their graduation ceremony after driving to school with confederate flags flying from their trucks.
Seventy-five other students showed up at the school Wednesday morning to protest the action taken by the school against Justin Thompson, Joey Snyder and another student.
"I figured, you know, were seniors, its the last day of school we didnt mean any offense by it," Thompson said.
Added Snyder: "We didnt look at it as racist or anything."
But school officials feel that flying a confederate flag violates the schools student conduct policy. The students have been suspended from all school-sponsored activities.
"We are responsible for the 2,000-plus students that attend this school," said Rick Kaufman, of Bloomington Public Schools. "The very nature of what they did had the potential to create a very serious situation."
Students disagreed.
"They werent trying to hurt anybody, they just had it on their cars. Its just freedom of speech" said Landin Lind, one of 75 students who chanted Let Them Walk at the school Wednesday morning.
"I feel it was a racist move, but I feel that they were just kidding around," added student James Granberry, who supports the students. "I didnt really take offense to it."
School officials added that theyve dealt with some racism issues at the school recently, which is why they are taking the incident so seriously.
All three students will still receive their diplomas.
“My stepson took a CBF with him to Iraq and tied it on a tank. LOL”
More power to him! Good Show!
as you are aware Dr Blackerby of Tuskegee University said precisely that in his WELL-known book BLACKS IN BLUE & GRAY.
laughing AT you & anyone who is DIM-witted enough to buy your line of BILGE.

i'd guess that todays "crop of oh, so sensitive folks" are UNABLE to accept anything that MIGHT offend SOMEBODY/anybody.
laughing AT those "sensitive persons" & the DY BIGOTS.

It’s funny that the CBF was not an issue until about 12-15 years ago. I believe that the NAACP was broke back then and needed a new “Cause” to rally around to raise money and regain lost membership so they came up with the idea that the CBF was now “offensive”.
And now all of the little PC sheeple have fallen in line.

Actually, I have a copy of Blackerby's book in front of me right now. First edition. Copyright 1979. 138 pages, divided into a preface, four chapters, three appendix, abbreviations, and index. Chapters are titled "Blacks in Grey", "Blacks in Blue", "Blacks as Captors and Captives", and "Blacks in Grey Turning Blue". And I can state without any fear of contradiction that nowhere in that dull, boring little book does Blackerby claim that 150,000 free blacks served with the confederacy.
And I will correct you in another area. I don't believe Blackerby is a Ph.D. I haven't seen any biography that indicates he is. Nor have I seen anything that indicates he taught at Tuskegee or anywhere else. Nothing, literally nothing of what you say is correct.
N-S, your REPUTATION precedes you;sadly, for YOU, NOBODY here believes ANYTHING you post, absent INDEPENDENT proof. on the contrary, you are becoming as big of a JOKE as the rest of "the clue-LESS coven of DAMNyankee liars, bigots, FOOLS & lunatics."
laughing AT you.

ebay.
Last year.
Prove it, you jackass. If I've misidentified the copyright or number of pages or chapter titles then prove it. You tell us the titles. Give me a page number and I'll give you the first and last sentences on it and you tell me if I'm wrong.
as i said, you are NOT trusted by anyone here but the DUNCES of "the coven".
instead of the 1st/last sentences, post the PAGE where Dr Blackerby states that 100,ooo to 150,ooo Blacks served in the CSA military. THEN & only THEN will i believe you HAVE a copy.
otherwise, most everyone on FR won't believe you.
free dixie,sw
also, neither abebooks nor amazon.com have had ANY in YEARS.
care to try another tack, a s i don't believe you on this???
free dixie,sw
I don't think you've ever seen it.
instead of the 1st/last sentences, post the PAGE where Dr Blackerby states that 100,ooo to 150,ooo Blacks served in the CSA military. THEN & only THEN will i believe you HAVE a copy.
He doesn't make that claim anywhere, on any page. And let me point out that your claim was 100,000 to 150,000 free blacks. As riddled as Blackerby's book is with fairy tales at least he wasn't foolish enough to be caught in a lie that big.
There is a Black Confederate Solider burried in Wyheville Virginia there was big event for it in 2001. It was very touching as he was giving full honors.
as i said, ebay.com hasn't had a copy for sale in at least THREE YEARS (it MUCH morely likely that ebay KNOWS what they sold over their site than it is that you were truthful.)& therefore NONE was sold last year, as you claimed. furthermore neither abesbooks.com nor amazon.com has had any for sale in nearly FIVE years.
IF there had been any for sale at ANY of those places, i would have bought it.
once more, it's OBVIOUS that you did NOT buy a copy through ebay last year AND that you LIED again.

The only liar around here is you. Prove me wrong by providing the page where he makes the claim of 100,000 to 150,000 free blacks. Blackerby even quotes from the 1860 census on the total number of free blacks in the confederacy at the outbreak of the rebellion and it's no where large enough to support your asinine claims of 100 to 150 thousand. And that's probably why he doesn't make it. The only person I'm aware of foolish enough to believe those figures is you.
tell us HOW you bought a copy from ebay last year, when there were NO copies sold in at least THREE years??? (we all need a good belly-laugh at YOUR expense.)
