World welcomes Obama win

LONDON (AP) -- Excitement about Barack Obama emerged as a global phenomenon Wednesday as commentators and citizens around the world welcomed the news that he had sealed the Democratic presidential nomination.

The excitement was less about Obama's foreign policies -- which remain vague on many fronts -- than a sense that the candidacy of a black American with relatives in Africa and childhood friends in Asia marks a historic moment.

Michael Cox, a professor of international relations at the London School of Economics, said Obama's win "has sent out a lot of positive signals around the world."

"He has a very appealing persona -- elegant, fluent, strings lots of sentences together into paragraphs," Cox said. "But in terms of (his) actual policies towards the Middle East, Iraq, Iran, China, Europe -- actually, we don't know."

In Kenya, home to Obama's family on his father's side, the Kenya Times newspaper devoted its front page to Obama's victory, under the headline "Obama makes history."

Relatives that are leaders of Islamic extremism which is responsible for the murder of thousands in it's attempt to seize power and establish yet another Taliban-like theocratic dictatorship.

I'd like to know exactly which countries are excited about that.

Question: Do any of these supposedly advanced European nations have a political leader with friends in Asia and relatives in Africa? Of course not. And they probably never will. So they need not lecture Americans about their provincialism.

Go to, say, France, and try to find black people in positions of wealth and power. You won’t.

Excitement about Barack Obama emerged as a global phenomenon

Soon to join other global phenoms like the Macarena and the Spice Girls.

He forgot "clean and articulate."

If you were hiring a minimum wage worker to do oil changes for Jiffy Lube, would you hire someone who's mechanical experience was "vague on many fronts"?

I teach school in Japan . The vice principal informed me of the Obama V . The faculty were ecstatically happy and jumping up and down . You would have thought he was going to be PM of Japan . All I did was yawn . The worldwide media has got almost everybody snowed .

I'd be more comfortable with the Spice Girls in the White House than BHO.

Fergie would be even better.

Ha,ha this exposes all the foreign libs for what they really are...pie-in-the-sky, reality-challenged ignoramuses. They love Obama, but they don’t have a clue as to what he stands for. Other than, I supposed, they think he’s a Marxist like a lot of them are. That’s the description of a sucker. They’ll get taken, and we’ll get taken if he gets elected.

Wow, that’s really something to “excited about.”

Both of which had greater substance than Barry's one-paragraph résumé.

“LONDON (AP) — Excitement about Barack Obama emerged as a global phenomenon Wednesday as commentators and citizens around the world welcomed the news that he had sealed the Democratic presidential nomination.”

Hugo Chavez, Vladimir Putin, Ahmahdinejad, Osama Bin Laden, Zawirhi, North Korea, Red China and the rest of the tin horn dictators and commie thugs throughout the world are rejoicing for they have “liberated the US”
