SAN FRANCISCO The San Francisco Medical Examiner says a teenager who was killed by an escaped zoo tiger six months ago had marijuana and alcohol in his system.
The toxicology report was released Monday. It is included with an autopsy that concluded 17-year-old Carlos Sousa Jr. was killed by "blunt force injuries of the head and neck."

Sad story all the way around. Although I will admit that I’m not surprised by the toxicology report.
There are animals there, right?
>>>>>>>Man! Those drug tests take forever!
It’s California....Man....Everything is just chill there.
I wonder if the tiger caught the buzz?
Surely this could have waited a few more years.
But if the zoo kept it’s animals in their enclosure, he would be alive. Right?
Alcohol and pot does not deserve a death sentence.
“But if the zoo kept its animals in their enclosure, he would be alive. Right?

Agreed. The kid might have been an idiot but a proper enclosure would have kept the tiger in.
..he was killed by BLUNT force injuries.
Reporters take nothing seriously enough these days.
gosh, that just proves what your mother tells you:
don’t get drunk and stoned and go to the zoo and harass the animals.
they could get wild as you’re wilding.
Now the lawyers can sue the city, the zoo attendants , the zoo contruction workers, the alcohol manufacturers, the drug dealer, the people manufacturing the glass to bottle the alcohol, the first grade teacher for making him feel badly about himself and don’t forget to blame it on Bush!
I vaguely remember reading that the kids had something to do with the tiger getting out? I wonder if they did? and it’s not being mentioned b/c the wall didn’t meet industry standard and the boy is dead?....one thing for sure trial lawyers are salivating.
Sad that the animal was killed
Don’t you just HATE when that happens?
The enclosure probably was adequate for a tiger that isn’t being taunted and angered.
“Hey man, hold muh stash and watch THIS...”
The zoo started many rumors that turned out to be untrue....
The boys dangled a leg... taunted the animal... opened the cage... let a board or picnic table down the wall... shoe in the moat... there were pinecones in the pit... etc
The police stated there was no evidence of taunting, no evidence they let out the tiger and no foreign objects in the pit, no board, no picnic table, no shoe in the moat.
The only evidence they have is an eyewitness claiming the boys were “roaring” at the lions in the next enclosure and evidence that they were drunk, high.
Zoo employees had complained for decades that the wall was too low. One mother reported the tiger jumping up and getting one paw over the wall five feet in front of her 4 year old son. A zoo employee told her, “That tiger always does that. He hates me.”
The zoo’s insurance carrier is heaving a sigh of relief.
