Sorry, but NOPE!
“If one of your children had this allergy, and you found yourself in the situation this woman did, youd being suing too. And youd win or get a big out of court settlement.”
Um, no. If he was that allergic, I would have him wearing a mask and gloves for the whole trip just in case. Or if that wouldn’t do, I would drive him myself where I could control his environment. I would not expect a major airline to take reponsibility for my child and then sue them when they didn’t.
Hmm seems to me the mother should have KNOWN that peanuts were served.. and saved the drama.
Soon enough the peanut nazis will have “peanut free zones” and “Random peanut searches”
.. “for the children” of course.. ugh.
The study You noted, says 26 due to PEANUTS over an unnamed number of years. Again assuming for one second that we set truth aside as Hillary did during those ludicrous hearings, over how many years did your stated 100 deaths occur, with the number of deaths probably being a WAG!
Definition: WAG= Wild A*S Guess
Nanny State Mentality Ping...........
Some people seem to need to complain about anything and everything instead of taking responsibility for themselves.
What’s with these East Coast Chicks?
Oops! Sorry, LOL!
Actually, you’ve been away from the east coast long enough that I consider you a Southern Girl, who nicely balances out my strident Yankee-ness. :)
I hear tell that those newfangled security scanners can reveal any nuts that are concealed under the clothing. But, then, I may be getting the technology all balled up.
Did he? No. Okay then.
Next case!
Yes, you are right. I remember driving to California many times. Our car was checked to make sure we didn’t bring in fruits of plants. One time driving from the east coast to California...I had a plant in a nice container that my mother had insisted I take back with us... :) God bless mothers. :) Anyway, they dumped my plant but gave me back my planter. Each time I look at that planter I think of my beloved mother who just want to give me “one more thing” to take back with us. :( :)

Bittersweet memories now that my dear mom is in heaven with my dear dad. :)
The worst scare stories, from people with an axe to grind because they don't want to accept responsibility for themselves and their own family, control freaks, and/or looking for deep pockets (lawsuits or grant money)
You were so lucky. It could have been full of POISONOUS SPIDERS!!!!!
Typical legalese...
Obviously the parent is both blind and illiterate... being unable to recognize peanuts when given a little foil bag with the word ‘PEANUTS’ on it. That, and being unable to see peanuts in the bag after she or her son opened it.
The courts ought to hear the case, agree with her, and then determine that by virtue of her blindness and mental retardation - she will lose custody of her children.
The offer her the opportunity to drop the case altogether.
Then, how about she just tell the stewardess ‘no thanks’ when she offers peanuts to her son?
Geez!
Most people who are allergic to cats... aren’t allergic to cats, but the dander in cat hair.
So if you shave your cat bald, no one will sneeze.
(Yes, Mr. Bigglesworth, I’ll take you on the plane...)
ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honey, you can't get much closer to the East Coast than I am without waterfront property! I may be south of the Mason Dixon Line, but I'm definitely an East Coast Chick -- although one of the normal ones :)
Now if you're talking NORTH East, then you're right, I left that Yankee-ness many, many moons ago!
Actually, they are allergic to something in cat saliva....and cats lick their coats a lot....you have a point! But, I had a party once, and UNTIL the chick SAW the cat she was fine....once she saw it....she made her boyfriend take her home...
