WASHINGTON (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton has told congressional colleagues she would be open to becoming Barack Obama's vice presidential nominee, saying she would consider it if it would help Democrats win the White House. Clinton, a New York senator, made the comment on a conference call with other New York lawmakers Tuesday, according a participant on the call.

The senator's remarks came in response to a question from Democratic Rep. Nydia Velazquez who said she believed the best way for Obama to win over key voting blocs, including Hispanics, would be for him to choose Clinton as his running mate.

"I am open to it," Clinton replied, if it would help the party's prospects in November.

I don't like Obama at all, but he isn't stupid. It would be bottom of the barrel “don't steal mah yellow helmet” stupid for Obama to put Hillary on the ticket. She could NEVER really shut her mouth, and BILL would be all OVER the place, the unleashable cigar freak that he is, the never ending scandal... Obama is not THAT stupid. Close, cause we all know he is giving it serious consideration... Ok maybe he IS yellow helmet stupid....

I honestly don’t think any ticket with Obama will win once the country is more aware of Black Liberation Theology.

You think if she had the tape she'd use it to gain the VP slot?!?! VP, VP SPOT?

She'd have used that thing so fast, she'd have the earth spinning at warp speed. She wants to be PRESIDENT of the USA, not VP of the USA!

Bob Beckel is an Obama supporter...not for hillary at all.

Bush beat Kerry.
McCain can beat Obama.

Conservatives were pissed at Bush then, still are.

I think alot of people are in denial because they hate the thought of an Obama win.

The guy is generating huge excitement and interest whether you or I like it or not, or deny it.

Yep. I accepted the impending GOP loss months ago and have gotten over it.

I agree and I have trouble following that rationale as well. All the color and gender positioning is GOP’ers trying to be too smart and outsmarting themselves. It is the same logic that saddled us with McCain.

The logic goes that since the media liked McCain and he has a predilection for teaming up with Teddy and other Socialists and stabbing conservatives in the back ————the Indies and Rats will jump ship and vote for McCain. Wrong! The same will hold true for color. No matter who is VP, the rats will get the minority and female vote.

I hope McCain chooses someone who is smart and has leadership qualities. That would be a first because I do not see Hillary, Obama or McCain as being smart or having leadership potentialities. I know one of these will be our next president but that doesn’t keep me from pegging red on the shocked and disgusted gauge. :)

DU’ers are convinced that Obama will burn if Hill is on the ticket.

There is just NO WAY that Hill is gonna get that nod.

That’s a good way to look at it, and like you say that’s how they’ll spin it to fit the CHANGE aspect....It’s still ain’t gonna help Obama though, if ya get what I mean!!

Somehow, I just can’t see the guy being THAT stupid..It still makes for good TV though, and keeps Free Republc on line!!!

So if she’s on the ticket and, say, something should happen between now and the election to completely ruin him, she’ll be the one to pick up the reins?
