Barack Obama Is Not a Christian
The Fox Forum ^ | June 2, 2008 | Cal Thomas

...

“I’m rooted in the Christian tradition,” said Obama, who has declared himself a Christian. But then he adds something that most Christians will see as universalism: “I believe there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people.”

Yup, and I am Spiderman.

You keep on with the pathological liar bit, Obama.

Americans will keep exposing you for the fraud that you are.

Behold the utter ignorance on the follow up posts at the original link.

Not necessarily ignorant but biased as defenders of the faith; as they should be.

The more I hear of the Trinity United Church of Christ and the black liberation church's orthodoxy, the more it seems alike to Santa Ria or a melding of two (or more) religions into one. It can be said that modern Christianity itself a schism from the Jewish orthodoxy and later schisms occurred giving rise to Eastern Orthodoxy and Protestantism, even the Church of the Latter Day Saints. But they all have a common basis, they all embraced a common theology.

The question you'll fire back at me will be 'Is Islam a religion?' and does it have connections to the Judeo-Christian theology.

I’ve never believed in hell as punishment. Only eternal death or eternal life in His presence.

I’ve always taken that passage to mean that in the last days Jesus will again visit the land of the dead as he did just after His crucifixion and death.

Whoops...

Obama: "I don't need Mr. Keyes lecturing me on Christianity. That's why I have a pastor."

Wasn't Obama's mother a virulent atheist?

Not according to her daughter Maya.

In an interview with the New York Times, published on April 30th, 2007, Maya Soetoro-Ng, Obama’s younger half sister, told the Times, "My whole family was Muslim, and most of the people I knew were Muslim."

Although Anna Dunham is often described as an atheist, I assume Maya thinks of her mother as a member of her family.

I assume Maya also thinks of her brother, Obama, as a member of her family?

How else would one interpret that statement?

He majored in Islamic studies in seminary

Wright earned his second masters degree in the history of religions with a focus on Islam at the University of Chicago Divinity School.

From the Book of PUnter, 1:1:

"And he was Lillian Roth in his extremity.
Merrily, merrily he came unto them saying: 'Merrily, Merrily, for I am come.'
And he came.
And he came unto the house of his father's mother's brother's servant saying, Where am I?
And there was none there to answer him, not even no one saying, Yea nowhere;
But in the land of reversible cups, and sanitary pedestals;
And he dwelt in that land a long time, like worms out of a hot cheese log."

Yeah, a lot of people think God is too nice and good to send someone to hell so that they burn for eternity.
Many people, like Obama, can’t put their faith in a God they perceive to be mean.
And others think that hell is just a big lie to scare people into being religious.

I think it’s just easier to make up a religion of your own instead of taking one like Christianity and putting in what you think is right and taking out what you think is wrong.

Interesting that you make reference to Lillian Roth on an Obama thread, as she did work with a couple of Marxes in her earlier days.
