Climate deniers 'are like Fritzl' (global warming)

People who fail to tackle climate change are acting like an Austrian man who locked his daughter in a cellar for 24 years, an Anglican bishop has said.

The Bishop of Stafford, Gordon Mursell, wrote in a parish letter that not confronting global warming meant people were "as guilty as" Josef Fritzl.

Mr Mursell added he was not accusing people of being child abusers but shocking analogies were needed.

For an educated Briton to make such an absurd and irrational remark can only mean that he is a raving nutter.

The hoaxers are like, well hoaxers of old, the elixir salesmen that claims his brown elixir would cure anything, what ails you. You tell me first what ails you and then I will tell you what it cures.

Cap and trade, same as tax and spend. Pay more in taxes and government will pretend to control the weather.

Anyone else notice how all the cap and trade taxes do is go in the coffers of government and they spend it on whatever they want.

This is rapidly becoming our version of Lysenkoism.

"Scientific dissent from Lysenko's theories of environmentally acquired inheritance was formally outlawed in 1948, and for the next several years opponents were purged from held positions, and many imprisoned. Lysenko's work was officially discredited in the Soviet Union in 1964, leading to a renewed emphasis there to re-institute Mendelian genetics and orthodox science."...Wikipedia

We studied this under politics when I was in college, oh so many years ago..

Pity it is not taught now.

All science is sacrificed on the alter of Ideology.

It becomes the new State Sanctioned Religion.

And the Bishop believes he should be taken seriously?

I know how these people feel about social issues, do they have anything to say on religion? The churches are occupied by leftists.

Well, now, there is confrontation, and there is confrontation, when you are faced with a problem.

First determine if there IS a problem. WHY would global warming be such a bad thing? Polar bears do not drown, they are excellent swimmers, and in fact, much of their capture of prey is done while they are in the water. Harp seals do not just jump up on ice floes to be snatched out of the air by the polar bears, you know. And bananas grown in Labrador does not sound like such a bad thing. Plus the Northwest Passage could be kept open year-around, greatly reducing the sea voyage between London and Tokyo. Ports on the Arctic would be there to ship the huge quantities of fossil energy to be found in and surrounding the Arctic Ocean. Greenland could really become a ‘green land’.

If global warming is a BAD thing, how could its effects be best mitigated? Easy answer, raise taxes on everything, then with this big pool of capital, we will figure it out as we go along.

Hah.

Another scientific expert heard from. It constantly amazes me that these obtuse prelates not only feel obliged to opine on areas of discourse totally beyond them, they expect to be taken seriously.

Sorry Bub, stow the fatuous bullshit and supersize my fries for me. Time's a-wasting and the guy behind me just honked his horn while you were gibbering.

The Bishop is like Fritzl’s daughter, living in the dark and taking what comes without any question.

Mursell said it was hard to imagine a more "monstrous crime" than Fritzl's....

Well, there is one, recruiting the ignorant into a false religion idol worshiping cult, but that's about the only one.

We can all play name games with leftists - people who believe the global warming scam are like the Waffen-SS. And its leaders are clones of Heinrich Himmler.
