Something very strange is happening in the hallowed halls of the old media. From the Washington Post to the New York Times, articles are starting to appear actually acknowledging that the Iraq war may be, gasp, winnable. Even the United Nations went on record, with Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon saying Iraq has made "notable progress" in the security, political and economic fields.

This recent acknowledgment of the obvious has yet to extend to the Democrat Party. Despite

She then partially credited the success of the troop surge to "the goodwill of the Iranians." Riight.

The only "goodwill" Iranian is a dead Iranian. And if they're not careful, they're gonna be "goodwill" Iranians...

Not so. There are MANY in Iran who are chafing under strict Islamic rule and long for a regime change. The problem is that as soon as the mullahs took over in Iran, they sent their enforcers door to door to confiscate all the guns.

Somewhere there is a lesson but I bet the lesson the liberals take away is that the people must be disarmed before they can take over.

Don't give the Mullahs all the credit.....without Jimmuh Carter, the Ayatollah & the Mullahs would have still been under their rocks! Jimmuh Carter, single-handedly denying freedom for much of the planet's freedom-loving people, currently suffering under one of Jimmuh's Despots! Jimmuh, happily helping Islam return to the 10th Century!

Thank you for making your comment. People in this country are so ignorant (not stupid, but not properly educated) about the fact of there being a great number of Iranians whose voices have been suppressed by their tyrannical leadership. I’ve friends there who would like nothing more than to be able to throw off their leadership, but the police state that exists there makes it very dangerous for those to voice such a desire, and for their families.

I suspect in Iran the government speaks with one voice, the people another. Kinda like here in the USA

The people of Iran or going to have to choose between the wrath of their government or the wrath of the rest of the World. Just as a guideline... Their own government does not have nuclear weapons, yet. However, we have them. Lots and lots of them.

It is an unfortunate situation, but one that is going to get worse and worse. The actions of the Iranian government are intolerable and have to end. They can be ended internally, which will be violent and ugly with many dead, or they can be ended externally, which will require violence and ugliness that is beyond human comprehension.
