Doolittle was hailed by elected officials in a vast, stoutly Republican district for bringing home federal dollars. His bountiful political leadership fund furnished the purse strings for candidates and causes. His fiery conservatism plucked the heartstrings of party activists.

Regional elected officials who stood with Doolittle now overwhelmingly support former Sacramento-area Rep. Doug Ose, claiming he is best suited to secure federal funding for local projects and infrastructure.
Republican Party activists, particularly the local county GOP central committee members who were among Doolittle's most devout supporters, are breaking strongly for Ose's rival, state Sen. Tom McClintock.

Tom Hudson, chairman of the Placer County Republican Central Committee, said "nearly all of the activists have gone with McClintock" as their champion for traditional values and smaller government.

But Placer County Supervisor Kirk Uhler said it is no surprise that all five Placer supervisors and some 70 other elected officials in the 4th Congressional District stand with Ose.
"Doug understands the federal government has the responsibility to solve problems," said Uhler, who believes the former Sacramento-area congressman will work to address transportation, water and other infrastructure needs of the district.

Doolittle is endorsing neither candidate. His longtime political campaign team is working for Ose. His former California legislative chief of staff is running McClintock's campaign.
Ose, who locked up many endorsements before McClintock entered the race, has district backers including elected officials in eight counties, seven cities and local entities from water agencies to school boards.

the ugliest commercial is where Pete Wilson endorses Ose over McClintock... i love McClintock... who cares what Pete Wilson thinks...
I wish McClintock was on my ballot. I’m having to decide between Russ Bogh and John Benoit. I have to get the pad of paper and jot down their voting records to compare. What a job.
The League of Women’s Voter has come out in the reverse of us.
I haven’t kept up with them for a long time. Are they generally a liberal cause these days?
They’re very left. They started in the 1920s with the woman’s suffrage movement that was infested with communists. Now, they tout the worst environmental laws and “social justice.” They are also a big promoter of the UN and ‘free trade.’
Oh! You mean "The league of women VIPERS," don'tcha???
That’s it, hit me with the one two U.N. and Free Trade. LOL
Thanks.
Evidently so, after hearing from you and CalCowGirl.
I hadn’t heard much out of them in the last twenty years that I could remember. Thanks for the comments.
“The League of Womens Voter has come out in the reverse of us.”
You misspelled it, it’s The League of Womens Vipers!
Great minds in the same groove... yours and mine!!!
I got a robocall from the LWV yesterday. I didn’t even have to listen—I just hung up, LOL.
They occasionally might be on the correct side of an issue, but I can’t remember one in recent history.
Their website on candidates and propositions is pretty useful, but I avoid any editorial content and always work my way straight to info as published in the voter pamphlet (that has its own biases to dicipher).
Sorry about the one-two punch. I actually thougth it was a four-five punch after communism, environmentalism and ‘social justice.’ Just wanted to make sure you got the ‘big picture.’ LOL.
They stack the audience with their people with preprepared questions and they are the only ones that get called on from the audience.
The whole operation is a preplanned production to make the conservative look like a fool.
Media may think they are "The Fouth Estate," because of their first amendment protections, but actually, they have NO civic duty or mandate to organize or play ANY role in these "debates," or "forums," etc.!!! (same goes for "The league of Women Vipers)
I was GLAD to see that Tom McClintock did NOT participate in the latest, last minute "forum!" They are "loaded" just like you described!!!
Yeah, I know, I know. I blew it. LOL
Good to see you posting Dale. Hope all is going good for you.
I did get it. I just think the U.N. is sortof a blanket for the other three. At any rate, we agree on the groups that flock together.
I want McClintock to get this so badly!
