Reporting from KTVQ in Billings
Chelsea Clinton told supporters in Billings that the country needs to do more with gun control laws, during the final visit on her two day tour campaigning on her mother's behalf in the Magic City.
During a question and answer session before seniors and other supporters at the Yellowstone County Council on Aging Office Friday morning, Chelsea said, "We also need to do more with gun control. And my mom supports- naturally what she supported in New York. Which is: we have different gun control laws in New York City than we do in upstate New York."
The younger Clinton made her remarks in a response to a question from Yellowstone County Commissioner Bill Kennedy (D), who asked her what efforts could be made to get more cops on the street.
Kennedy introduced Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton before her speech in Billings on Tuesday night, where he said that Senator Clinton would protect Montanans Second Amendment rights.
The former First Daughter as standard practice does not do interviews with the media, so the News Station's Aaron Flint was unable to ask Chelsea Clinton a follow up question regarding the remarks.
Clinton spoke to the Council on Aging, taking questions for nearly an hour about her mother's position on the issues, addressing Social Security, Medicare, and education.
She touted her mother's support for universal health coverage, a position none of the other presidential candidates hold.
Clinton did not mention Barack Obama or Republican candidate John McCain during the remarks, but she did throw out several critiques of the Bush Administration for what she describes as "a lack of fiscal responsibility".
Hillary Clinton's challenger, Barack Obama, has also come under attack by Montana Republican Party Chairman Erik Iverson recently, who says Obama voted to ban shotguns for use during hunting.
Montanans will have their final say in the primary election on Tuesday, June 3rd.

Here is the full remark that was made on the topic of gun control
Chelsea Clinton: "We also need to do more with gun control. And my mom supports- naturally what she supported in New York. Which is: we have different gun control laws in New York City than we do in upstate New York. I think a lot of people think of New York City as just being New York, but actually the majority of New York State, not only land mass wise, but also people wise, lives outside New York City- and we have very different gun control laws in New York City as what we do in upstate New York."

Chelsea Clinton campaigned for the first time on Thursday in Billings, but she told a crowd that she's no stranger to the Big Sky state.
Chelsea talked with Montana-Wyoming tribal leaders, visited the YWCA, the Clinton campaign headquarters, and then ended the day at the Montana Brewing Company.
Chelsea Clinton has some ties to Montana as she worked on a cattle ranch near Grass Range while she was in college.
She says that Hillary Clinton is the strongest candidate for the Democrats, and the best for President. Chelsea also told supporters and others at the Montana Brewing Company she's proud to campaign for her mother.
She started the event with a short presentation and took a few questions, but she answered most of the queries by visiting people at their tables.
Chelsea talked about her mother's "prevention first" legislation to decrease teen pregnancy.
"Mandate funding those programs we know work, ensuring that honest age appropriate sexual education is back in our schools and on the national institutes of health web site and on other government health web sites, but she hasn't even been able to get that through a Democratic Congress."
Chelsea Clinton will visit the Yellowstone County Council on Aging at its new office in Westpark Plaza beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Following the visit she heads to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

(from May 29, 2008)
Montana's June 3rd primary is less than a week away and the candidates are hitting the Treasure state hard.
Chelsea Clinton made her first visit to Big Sky Country to campaign for her mother Hillary.
Chelsea is making several stops in Billings on Thursday and Friday. She has visited 39 states while campaigning for her mother.
At Chelsea's first stop in Billings she talked with Montana-Wyoming Tribal leaders and then it was off to the YWCA.
Chelsea wanted to visit the YWCA because her mother came here in the early to mid 1990's. She looked at child care and even read the book "Giraffe's Can't dance."
The Senator's campaign staff says the children's issues are important to Mrs. Clinton.
She talked with the Y's staff about all programs for children and families.
After the Y, Chelsea visited the Clinton Campaign headquarters to talk with volunteers. At a stop in the Montana Brewing Company, she will talk to young professionals.
Friday, Chelsea will meet with members of the Yellowstone County Council on Aging starting at 9:00.
While this might, or might not, be true, what *is* true would be that most of the people posting here would be already there to greet them...
the infowarrior
The offspring of two fools. Figures.
Who the hell is Chelsea Clinton?
Profound ignorance. That’s kind of like what Fred Sanford was saying with “You’re not just a dummy, you’re a stupid dummy.” Some people don’t just not know. They know things that aren’t true. They work hard to understand things in ways that don’t really occur.
I think I'll pass.
Pitiful Pearl Chel
I guess that it's merciful that she has no idea how stupid she is.
20 year?! Jeez man
Do you deal out in months? Lol
This is hilarious. Montanans also have various guns in their trucks as well as their homes - might have to shoot a wolf or something, like the guy in Kalispell. But no one has mentioned the claim that she worked on a Montana ranch while in college. That is a new one - suppose it was a Dude Ranch vacation?
When you get -- and work competently at -- a job, honey, well, get back to me, ok?
Who in his or her right mind would jog through Fort Marcy Park? I've been there, well, no further than the entrance off the George Washington Parkway, and even that part of the Park was rather creepy and secluded.
Chelsea is...okay, but you can do a whole lot better. That said, she's young, naive, and riding on the coattails of her parents, so, she's probably a leftie.
But we can’t ask questions of a horse of course. THAT would be wrong and “partisan” to attack the “child” of an ex-president.
what would mom think? She did duck hunt and spit.
Sperm Control is the answer.
So much for that Stanford degree.
***Whats most interesting is the new ground rules laid down for Chelsea Clinton alone. I wonder if the idea will spread among other politicians?
That is, I get to speak, but *you* dont get to ask me questions.***
That’s nothing new to the Clintons, mother and daughter. HIllary has a long history of only accepting pre-approved questions.
It looks like she is getting ready to eat a large... cucumber.
***Chelsea Clinton has some ties to Montana as she worked on a cattle ranch near Grass Range while she was in college.***
She was in college in England, and spent almost no time there. We’re still wondering how she graduated. And, if she had actually worked on a cattle ranch (un-named), we’d have heard about it from all the liberal media.
