In the Ivory Coast, a 13-year-old girl is gang-raped in a field by 10 UN peacekeepers , and left on the ground, bleeding, trembling and vomiting. This is part of a larger picture involving fresh allegations by a U.K.-based charity, Save the Children, of UN peacekeepers abusing children in the Ivory Coast, Haiti, and Southern Sudan. As detailed by the BBC, "the UN has said it welcomes the report, which it will study closely." Oh, great. The UN can add this report to its research collection of previous reports on UN peacekeeper rape in Liberia and Sierra Leone and the Congo and so forth; and we can look forward to more UN statements on the issue, such as Kofi Annan's "zero tolerance" policy of 2005, or his zero-zero tolerance policy of 2006 (when he "strengthened" the zero tolerance of 2005), and Assistant-Secretary-General Jane Lute's zero-zero-zero "zero tolerance" promises of 2007. The UN ought to just add these policies to its list of millenium development goals with all those other target dates and enormous numbers. You know, something like: Goal #9: Halving UN peacekeeper rape by the year 2015.

I know that the UN is actually coming here to investigate us in regard to racism. And we did NOT object to this outrageous interference in our domestic affairs. I don’t know about guns but nothing would surprise me. The UN is nothing more than an agency to fully control the “have” nations by the “have not” (socialist, Marxist) nations.
And I blame America politicians foremost for not having the courage to shut that stink-hole down. And the leftists who turn a blind eye and say that one good thing done covers the multitude of slime the permeates the UN.
Well said! If we examine the UN’s role with respect to the war crimes, genocides, famines, and human rights abuses in the past two decades it would earn a grade of D- (and that’s being generous).

At least there was a time when a USA Ambassdor to the UN would
let loose now and then.
IIRC, at some time when the USSR was making a stink at the UN,
our Ambassador Vernon Walters said (in UN session) that he’d be glad
to bid the USSR delegation “a fond adieu” (sp?) at the NYC docks as
they steamed out of New York Harbor on their way back to the Soviet Union.
I’m not suprised this beautiful episode is missing from the Wikipedia

Exactly - the USA is held accountable for the most trivial incidents while terrorsts and Islamofacsist religious fanatics get a free pass. This is not only hypocrisy but part of the global PC mentality that’s ruining us.
Some folks would consider that a "target-rich environment." The blue helmets help with target acquisition, as well.

Absolutely. I remember that Sen. Norm Coleman was investigating UN corruption a few years ago but (surprise!) nothing ever came of it. By the way, these leftists you refer to are in league with the leftists that are pushing the North American Union (NAU) and the Peace and Prosperity Institute that want to surrender American sovereignty and economic independence by forcing us into a Mexican-Canadian no-borders commercial union.
Sadly, it's no big deal to the RATS, either. Where's Jack Murtha? Where Little Dick Durbin? They couldn't get to a microphone fast enough to call our troops murderers and torturers, but they're completely silent on real criminal troops.

One reason is that the Stupid Party didn’t call them on their outrageous statements. The entire world went upside down for weeks when Chester Lott said Strom Thurmond would have made a great President, but a RAT calls our troops cold-blooded murderers or torturers or terrorists (almost forgot about Jean Francois Kerry) and not a peep is heard. It does help to have good leadership.

You’re so right to remind us of Durbin who accused our troops of behaving like the mass murderers of Pol Pot and Stalin. After a tearful “apology” he went right back to his demagogic attacks on our military and slanderous accusations against all political leaders who support the war effort. That was his moment of truth - we now know what he really thinks of America and its armed forces.
I sympathize with the sentiment of your post, but please keep in mind that there are a lot of American soldiers wearing those blue helmets...American patriots who didn’t volunteer for UN duty, and in some cases absolutely detest the idea of serving under the UN flag.
Then they should take them off. Blue helmets and solderies marching would attract a LOT of fire around here.
They also do nothing about sex slave trade. Where are all these so called actors on this one.
UN peacekeeping was contemplated during the Los Angeles Riots. Currently the Merida Initiative gives a Continental approach to security, so in theory other militaries can patrol in another country. The real "blueprint" of global peacekeeping has outlined by the State Department back in 1961 with PUBLICATION 7277 IIRC has been updated by successive administrations .
Have you noticed that Murtha has disappeared from the headlines and cameras after his 15 minutes of fame? The reason is that he’s apparently so stupid that he even embarrasses Pelosi. It’s been privately said that after a few of his rants were broadcast on C-Span that the Dems decided that they’d best demote this moron back to his previous obscurity.
