What really appalls me is how much he seems to hate his white skin, and how he grovels to the black congregation, all of whom behave disgracefully. Have you seen the video? It's posted upthread.

Just like Bill Clinton grovelled back to the Black community when the Monica scandal broke!!! Do blacks think of themselves as Moral-less???Or do Moral-less Democrat White people USE them as Moral-lessers??

The pundits have no problem condemning the ministers at Obama's church who spew this venom, but everyone avoids the fact the parishioners appear to revel in the hatred, as well. It seems Obama hasn't just failed to inspire a few looney reverends towards racial harmony, but an entire congregation, as well.

Many people do "get" this fact. Obama is a member of this church. He is just like those hooting and hollering while "whitey" gets skewered on the pulpit.

This is precisely why his support among white Dems has collapsed.

Pfleger is a media whore. During impeachment, he scolded Republicans for pursuing a racially motivated witch hunt on the first black president. Shortly after the Columbine school shootings, he blamed the NRA.

“Has Obama gone through the sacraments in a conversion to Catholicism, and thereby joined the Catholic Church? Or has he announced that he will do so?”

not even close.
This wasn’t a catholic church - this was a rogue catholic priest invited to speak as a guest at this “black theology” themed church.
He violated the catholic church’s policy regarding political speeches in doing so.

Now this priest is the problem of his overseeing bishop - and his unfortunate parishioners at St. Sabina’s.

Please excuse my ignorance on “rules” about Catholic clergy, but doesn’t this Priest have a boss who can fire him on the spot?

Or do they have to go through a long process in Rome?

Thanks!

The Catholic Church has a term limit policy of how long a Priest can serve in one Parish. A couple of years ago, Cardinal Francis George prepared to transfer Pfleger to another church. However black community leaders demanded that he stay put. Cardinal Francis George caved in.

Looking at the people laughing goes along with the today’s theology that people need to be entertained when they go to a church service. They have go get ‘something out of it’ or they won’t come. The pastor is the magnet instead of God and the altar provides a stage rather than a Presence.

Wow, thanks for the info.

But, do his bosses in Rome (not in Chicago, they seem compromised by the blacks there)have the power to “fire” him for preaching bigotry, agitating and inciting?

It seems they have a case. A quite stunning case, on tape.

Of course he would simply “preach” under a different mantle, but at least he would not be representing the Catholic Church.

I agree about Bubba’s pandering to black people, but you didn't see other white people joining in, and that is what we are see in the pews of that church and the talking heads who are on TV 24/7 defending Barry and “it's a black thing so you wouldn't understand” BS. *whew*

The Democrats of any colour are just a bunch of really off-the-mark moonbats who think that defeat in Iraq will make the Muslim jihad go away. That is my number one beef with Barry. The race issue is in context of that hateful “church” and it's participants. Who in the hell are those people? Why do they think they can act that way?

Actually, I think the loony racist left will be permanently discredited if he loses, and I don’t think there’s going to be a massive reaction anywhere.

I think that what will happen is that the black separatists will become more separatist - that is, they’ll be forced to declare themselves and will no longer be able to pretend that they’re speaking for all blacks - and normal black people will be able to get on with their lives. The separatist group will probably also become more overtly or at any rate uniformly Muslim. Again, it would be better to have this declared and be able to identify them than having them sneak into political control by flashing the race card.

If he wins, on the other hand, I really see the end of the US. It will become a left-wing mobocracy, where the manipulators at the top send their squads of goons - black thugs and white anarchists - out into the streets, and pretty soon we’ll be indistinguishable from any hell-hole in Africa. That’s the creepy thing about Barry O - he’s acting as if he’s running for annointment as tribal chief, combined of course with that special something that modern dictators have (the force of a modern state), and his ignorant followers are responding to him exactly on those terms.

I agree. This "priest" is a hate-filled, vicious, racist (and a self-hating "whitey" at that). He should be immediately defrocked and excommunicated. This man is no more a priest than he is Christian. He's a hateful, vicious, race-baiter.

1 John 2:9 Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness. 10Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him[c] to make him stumble. 11But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him.

Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that David Axelrod, Barack Obama’s top aide, has been making a film about the newly-notorious Father Michael Pfleger:

Pfleger is the subject of a documentary being made by Chicago-based David Axelrod, Obama’s top strategist. On Friday, Axelrod told me in an e-mail that the film project has “been dormant for much of the last two years due to other commitments.”

"I don’t understand why they don’t pull this church’s tax exempt status. They have clearly violated the law for a non-profit to avoid partisan politics."

The IRS has always acted as if black churches are exempt from the rules the rest have to follow. They are so afraid of the "racist" tag that blacks get a free pass.

The Vatican does have the power to excommunicate him, but Rome tends not to micro manage parishes. Sadly, the Roman Catholic Church too often caves in to political correctness. I know one Obama supporter who was educated entirely in Catholic schools (primary, secondary, & university). He learned the greatest Christan virtues are love and tolerance, whereas the greatest sins are fundamentalism and hate. With an education like that, is it any wonder why he is an Obama supporter?

Yes, that is sad, for if ones greatest virtue is tolerance, then one has no others.

But, I remember some speculation that with the new Pope would come stricter guidelines, back to basics? (I'm not saying it right, but you know what I mean?)

Did that ever happen to any great extent?

When Pope Benedict was a Cardinal, he did have a reputation of a staunch traditionalist. Here in Chicago, the local Catholics don’t take Pope Benedict seriously. They consider him to be an interim Pope. They are praying for the next Pope to upgrade the Church.

Maybe we’ll be hearing more of this as time passes then.

I think you missed my point. I do not think that Obama found faith, wanted faith, or needed faith, he knows very well what faith he embraces and he kneels to the East. It was an expedient way to mainstream himself into local politics in the Chicago area and to gain votes and attention from the black and liberal white voters. Sort of like crawling before you walk. Of course he played the role, he is an actor that has had unseen handlers with a dangerous agenda for many years and the time is right to pimp their boy.
