American Airlines’ new bag policy discriminates against women, because most women will have to check their bag while men will not. As an example, here are the non-solid products my husband and I take when traveling:
My List: Shampoo, Cream Rinse, Body Wash, Body Lotion, Spray Perfume, Toothpaste, Mouthwash, Contact Lens Solution, Glasses Cleaner, Face Cleanser, Toner, Facial Night Cream, Moisturizer, Sunscreen, Vaseline Lip Therapy, Hand Cream, Mascara, Lipgloss
My Husband’s List: Shampoo, Cream Rinse, Toothpaste, Mouthwash, Glasses Lens Cleaner
Since we are required to put our lotions in a quart bag if we want to carry them on board, it is clear that my husband’s items will fit into a quart bag, while mine will not. Thus, I have to check the bag with my items, while he can carry his on. I will have to pay a $25.00 fee, while he will not. Cutting down the number of items I take is not an option because I have very dry skin and it is exacerbated by travel.
Most women use about 3 times as many products on a daily basis as men do. American Airlines’ policy is an example of discrimination against women who have no choice but to check their bags.
Vote with your wallet. otherwise, in a capitalist system, airlines are free to charge what they wish.
Choose a different airline. They don’t all operate the way AA does.

Use a different airline.
Do what I do - boycott the airline that initiates such stupid policies.
I refuse to fly AA and United, the folks who brought us the first checked bag and second checked bag fees. I fly quite a bit and have started using Frontier and Jet Blue as much as possible.
Maybe you should stop wasting your money on so much useless crap. You are either pretty or not. All the garbage you buy due to your insecurities ends up being at most .5% of your total attractiveness.
All this seems to show to me is that women are very high maintenance. /s

I’m not being sarcastic. If American’s ticket sales plummet they’ll get the message.
Do not fly American.
I do not object to their policy although I think it may encourage too much carry on luggage. American has decided to unbundle its services to raise revenue rather than increasing fares for everyone. This policy does not discriminate against women.
Do you live alone?
Here is a thought, just carry one bottle of shampoo, toothpaste, and mouthwash. Split all your 'necessities' between the two bags and when you get to your destination, buy small items that you can use in the time you are at your destination.
Uhhh, pack your liquids in your suitcase like normal people? I don’t carry my shampoo, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc... on the plane with me. That would be silly.
Perhaps women can protest by not carrying so much crap.
I personally think a better idea would be to charge people with carry on luggage the excess fee instead. Nothing annoys me more than some clown trying to cram their carry on into overhead compartments not designed for anything larger than a true overnight size piece of luggage. It also slows everybody down when trying to get off the plane.

Sorry, I know that's flip. The thing is, American's bag policy screws everybody, not just women. Throwing the sexual discrimination card is just so... progressive.
The last few times we’ve used AA personally, the costs have been outrageous, and the service has been, shall we say, like a HOOVER vacuum cleaner?!? >:-(
These exorbitant baggage charges were the last straw for us personally (though DH has to us AA for business travel occasionally)—we’ll be using a different airlines in the future when we travel for vacations, etc. Let’em keep their baggage fees, who needs them in a competitive market?
