MUST READ . . .

SCOTT’S TRUTH VS. REALITY
What Happened is an old Washington game.
By Peter Wehner

. . . Scott claims he is on a journey to discover “his” truth. But what he has done is do injury to the truth. The vast majority of us who served in the White House and for President Bush are very glad and grateful we did — and we will always consider it to have been the professional honor of a lifetime.

great pix of Frank Buckles - he looks wonderful. Recall his visit to White house earlier this year .. or was it late last year?

duh

thanks for the wonderful Dose Eleanor.. the pix from various locales on Memorial day are particularly good.

Is this the Mormon president that is in his 90s? he looks younger or has there been a change (forgive my dense blondness)? I truly have not kept up. I recall the elder’s wife died last year.

Great stuff, Deb!

LOVED the one with Rolling Thunder! Very cool of him to just
take his jacket and tie off and put the vest on right there in front of the cameras. I know the “motorcyclers” were proud that he was there for them....and with them!

It looks like it. It might be the missing man table. I have never seen that before in person, but a FRiend posts one similar on the Canteen:

Amazing pictures. I have participated (in a car) with the Patriot Guard Riders once when visiting Maine, and it is very impressive to see the long line of bikes...and knowing that they are honoring our troops in some way!

This is through the state capital of Maine (Augusta)

I hadn’t either till he started posting it almost every day.

It’s a wonderful way to honor the fallen, though, I think.

Maybe they took turns, but I feel sorry for him if it was
as hot there as it has been here...and was on Memorial Day! Ick!

"He said the hardest challenge for me would be to keep questioning my own beliefs and perceptions throughout the writing process. His advice was prescient. I’ve found myself continually questioning my own thinking, my assumptions, my interpretations of events. Many of the conclusions I’ve reached are quite different from those I would have embraced at the start of the process."

Quite interesting. Scott ended up writing what the editor wanted, not what he started out to write. He wanted to please the editor in order to get the book printed.

President Hinckley died in January, 2008. He was 97 or 96. His wife, Marjorie Hinckley died about 3 or 4 years ago President Thomas Monson is now the president of the LDS church. He is about 80 years old. His wife is still alive.

I don’t want to mess up snugs thread, but Scott McClellan is sure naive. He said he wrote the book so that there wouldn’t be so much partisanship in Washington, DC. I also heard comments from Ari Fleischer saying that McClellan has made a lot of errors in his book...
