In an interview yesterday with the San Francisco Chronicle, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi claimed the U.S. troop surge failed to accomplish its goal. She then partially credited the success of the troop surge to “the goodwill of the Iranians,” claiming that they were responsible for ending violence in the southern city of Basra.
Asked if she saw any evidence of the surge’s positive impact on her May 17 trip to Iraq she responded:
Well, the purpose of the surge was to provide a secure space, a time for the political change to occur to accomplish the reconciliation. That didn’t happen. Whatever the military success, and progress that may have been made, the surge didn’t accomplish its goal. And some of the success of the surge is that the goodwill of the Iranians-they decided in Basra when the fighting would end, they negotiated that cessation of hostilities-the Iranians.
This is an inexcusable slander.

I think that someone should ask Obama, Clinton and McCain what they think of this statement of Pelosi’s and if they are in agreement. Their answers wold be very interesting .

Nancy Pelosi = FAIL
The trouble (as I see it) is that 99.99% of politicians during our time or any other time for that matter are empty vessels. They say what they think will get them elected or keep them in office. In fact this is so true that a secondary meaning of the word “politician” is someone who says what is in some way expected instead of what is right.
So what’s really sad is that San Fran Nan is saying what is expected of her. She has obviously calculated that saying crap like this wins her more votes or support than it loses. Almost by definition.
If she thought she could get ahead by reciting Mother Goose, she’d do that too.
It’s amazing what the public believes out there. Lot of wing nuts walking around loose.
Better yet, let’s force the libs out of the country. Of course that would include a large % of republicans
The wait for 2010 and 2012 will be frustrating, but I believe that Conservatism will find a way to return. God save this country, despite it's enemies constant efforts to destroy her.

Pelosi is so invested in defeat in Iraq it is impossible to say anything positive about our nation’s military.
