Que Sarah, Sarah

As John McCain inches closer to the 1,191 delegates he needs to secure the Republican nomination, attention has turned to the vice presidential sweepstakes. Who should McCain pick as his running mate? The answer will be especially important if the aging four-term senator's general election foe is a youthful freshman agitating for change.

Sarah Palin, the beautiful conservative Republican governor of Alaska, would be an ideal choice to help McCain slay this unholy ObamaOprah beast which is set to rake in nearly $50 million a month in campaign donations alone, and has intense auxiliary support coming from the unions, George Soros's billions-infused Democracy Alliance organization, and other rich Democratic networks.

Mrs. Palin is one of conservatism's own, and would be the first female vice president. She's young being only 44 (two years behind Senator Obama), she is wildly known to despise government corruption. She defeated a horribly entrenched and corrupt Republican political machine in Alaska. She has a son in the U.S. military. She's strongly pro-life, belonging, in fact, to Feminists for Life.

Gov. Palin could become the Republican Party's Segolene Royal, the French Socialist Party's glamorous leader known for her heels and political bite. She is the perfect antidote to Sen. Obama's cheap thrills, and would help rejuvenate conservatism.

If Camille Paglia or the huffers on Huffington Post are anything to go by, the standard line that will be repeated often against John McCain will be that he's an "old coot"; a vintage George C. Scott-style warmonger; old; hypocritical; and just plain odd.

Take it from an Alaskan, Sarah is not all she is cracked up to be. Yes she is an eyeful, but not too much between the ears. She has grown the state budget and bureaucracy to record size in history. Her handlers have bungled the gas pipeline so bad we may never see one here. She works better with the democrats than her own party because they stroke her ego while she does their bidding. Maybe she should join mccain!

Possibly because my grandma is the only woman I know who actually owns a rolling a pin and she wouldn’t hit me. :)

What would you call those women and effete male journalists who fawned over Hillary’s “honest show of heartfelt emotion” if not stupid?

In fact I do feel contempt for these ignorant “swing voters” of both genders who unfortunately hold the fate of the country in their hands. They care about image not substance, if Palin presents an image attractive to these tools that’s a good thing. I happen to think she’s honest and intelligent (and courageous for not aborting her baby as many would have) and I hope if chosen and elected that McCain will swiftly kick the bucket so we can have a better President.

I would call them misguided at best, self-deluded at the worst. The fact is, the Clintons are notorious for pulling every clever emotional trick in the book, Bill is like a surgeon with a scalpel, Hiliarly is like a mad gorilla with a chainsaw, but there are always gullible types of *both* genders who will fall for such crapola.

I see your point. My concern however, would be that such voters, if they are that shallow, are unreliable and will abandon Palin or any visually appealing conservative candidate for the next "pretty face" that comes along.

Hey, it happened to William Henry Harrison!
