Barr is in, his running mate Root is a man on fire, and this will hurt Obama.
I hear my Republican and conservative friends jaws dropping. Come on guys. Get your chins off the floor and let me explain.
...
Singe-issue Democrats will defect where as single-issue Republicans won't. Pair this draining of votes with the Nader factor, and the electoral shift hits the Obama fan.

This isn’t about a single-issue, it’s about McCain-Feingold, Amnesty, The Gang of Fourteen, and Charlie Keating.
There’s a whole range of things I don’t like about McCain.
Bob Barr just put a big smile on The Magic Mulatto’s face.
Now, I have something to look forward to when the debates roll around...cause I really wasn’t holding my breath that mccain would shine.
It appears that there will also be a whole lotta splitting during the general election.
Is this Root gut related to Elihu Root?
If it were Stephen Root, he might bring a few votes with him.
Just don't try to borrow his stapler.
“Theres a whole range of things I dont like about McCain.”
Think you’ll like President Obama better?
Theres a whole range of things I dont like about McCain.
Unfortunately there was not one Republican candidate for President that there was not a whole host of people on Free Republic opposed to him.
I guess we should probably just run the position vacant.
And as said above I imagine you will probably like Obama better.

Bob Barr is Barry's "Great White Hope".
On the conservative side, besides many conservatives reluctantly voting for McCain, some will just stay at home on November 4 (I truly hope that this is not the actual case-see my tagline), some will also vote for Libertarian Bob Barr, some will vote for either the now Independent Presidential run of Alan Keyes, or for some other Independent Presidential candidate, some will truly write-in their favorite choice for POTUS (such as either Duncan Hunter, Fred Thompson, or Tom Tancredo among other possible choices), and some will vote for Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party for POTUS (my choice, BTW). I really don’t see that much difference between either McCain or Obama on most of the issues, and on the issues where both McCain and Obama do truly differ, a probable socialistic majority in both the next House and the next Senate will just successfully vote against McCain on everything that they disagree with McCain about on all of the issues, including but not limited to rejecting any conservative choices for any judicial vacancies as well as voting against anything and everything that McCain really wants and needs done involving the ongoing War on Terror. All McCain vetoes can also successfully be overturned in a Congress that’s truly controlled by a socialistic majority in both the House and the Senate. Like it or not, Chuck Baldwin truly comes across as being the closest on all of the issues to being the final conservative choice for POTUS in ‘08. Both Bob Barr and Alan Keyes are truly too nutty for me to seriously vote for either one for POTUS.
And why is that? I'm sure it is not because all those who ALREADY said they were not voting for McCain, might now vote for Barr... Bzzt! Try again.
Best idea I have heard and likely to do no harm.
And Baldwin is not?! I still get a good laugh thinking about his article "Is Bush the Anti-Christ?".
I’m not saying that Chuck Baldwin doesn’t also have his own set of problems to truly deal with, such as Chuck’s views on the WOT, I’m just saying that John McCain truly has MANY MORE problems with conservatives in general on all of the issues compared to Chuck Baldwin. As far as the WOT with McCain as POTUS is concerned, a truly socialistic Congressional majority in both Houses would truly prevent McCain from getting anything McCain seriously wants and needs successfully done unless it involves the true withdrawal from Iraq and/or Afghanistan asap.
Perfectly stated, johnthebaptistmoore!
I don’t think many conservatives, however, will be voting for Libertarian Barr. However, if Hillary turns Independent (as more and more folks think she will) and changes her message on illegal immigration and homosexual marriage, some conservatives will vote for her. She’s too headstrong and doing too well in the primaries since losing the 11 in a row to bow out and get behind Obama. I just don’t see that.
On that note, we were at the Ritz-Carleton Amelia Island a couple weeks ago, and all the front desk positions had red Swingline staplers. I cracked up.
