Topeka, KS (LifeNews.com) -- Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius is getting flack from a pro-life group for supposedly holding a secret party at the governor's mansion with an infamous late-term abortion practitioner. Sebelius reportedly invited George Tiller and his abortion center staff for a party at Cedar Crest, the governor's mansion.
Rumors of the party have circulated for months and first appeared in print when nationally syndicated columnist Bob Novak mentioned them in an article saying Sebelius' pro-abortion views would fit with those of Barack Obama.
On Wednesday, Operation Rescue told LifeNews.com the rumors were true and produced pictures of the event appearing to show Sebelius with Tiller.
The pro-life group said the lavish April 2007 event came at a time when Tiller was under investigation by the attorney general's office.
The group said an anonymous source provided it with 27 pictures of the event, reported that Tiller and his abortion center staff were the only ones invited, and indicated they dined on a menu of steak and lobster.
Operation Rescue filed a request for information made under the Kansas Open Records Act concerning the cost and source of funding for this event. It indicated it received scant information concerning four unrelated events held at Cedar Crest during March and April of 2007, but no mention of the Tiller soiree.
Troy Newman, the head of the group, told LifeNews.com it is considering legal action alleging Sebelius' office is in violation of the open records law by refusing to provide complete information.
"Is Gov. Sebelius illegally concealing a taxpayer-funded gala honoring Tiller?" he asked. "The public has a right to know."
Newman says the event underscores the way in which Tiller has funded pro-abortion candidates, including Sebelius, giving them an opportunity for power in an otherwise pro-life state and elevating Sebelius to national prominence.
"Sebelius' office arrogantly believes that they can keep her strong ties to Tiller a secret, but their efforts to keep the truth from the public have only exposed their corruption," he said. "Sebelius would not be governor today if not for Tiller's financial support. She owes him her career."
Those ties have resulted in a failure to prosecute Tiller for everything from supposedly illegal late-term abortions to killing a disabled Texas girl in a botched abortion.
"Every agency in Kansas that could hold Tiller accountable for illegal late-term abortions, from the Board of Healing Arts to the Kansas Supreme Court to the Attorney General, are all laced with Sebelius appointees. It is little wonder that they all have done nothing but stall and obstruct efforts to prosecute him," Newman concluded.

Kathleen Sebelius would make a perfect running mate for Obama.
She was named as a possible VP for Hillary, but I agree. Any public figure wanting to avoid the label "pro-abortion" should know better than to associate with the ghoulish Dr. Tiller. They do, but either don't care or don't expect to get caught.

How does a man like Tiller, sleep at night? Money. Lots and lots of money. The only thing he probably cares about.

It might punch her ticket to the top.

This is more than just being pro-choice - Dr. Tiller the Killer is a true baby killer. This is real baby killing.
Absolutely. This is beyond the pale, no question.
It indeed amazes me that somebody with as much blood on his hands as does George Tiller, has managed to actually stay alive this long.
BTW, a belated 'Welcome to FR' to you, I think I remember that TV show you used to be on?

Something about this is so repulsive that in my mind’s eye I keep seeing a bunch of ghouls sitting at a table devouring the innocent.

Tiller the Killer bought himself a Governor and she will do as she is told - of course she loves doing it anyway, so its not a big sacrifice for her. What is beyond the pale is that she is sworn to uphold the laws of the State of Kansas and she is openly and defiantly refusing to do it.
Any wonder why her Bishop has instructed her that she should refrain from receiving Holy Communion? She is decidedly not in a State of Grace.

Oh no, as wonderful as heaven is, that’s how horrible hell is. Consider this, first he meets all the babes, then he faces the total wrath of God for ETERNITY. Prison would be a piece of cake compared to hell. I do believe he will spend the rest of eternity being aborted.

Tiller the Killer makes so much money on his late-term abortion mill that he has virtually bought the State of Kansas, lock, stock, and barrel.
You have to wonder why the voters put up with it.

He performs the abortion as the rest of the baby has its entire body through the birth canal... Then the brain is sucked out. Tiller's specialty is murdering late-term babies -- 8th, 9th month of pregnancy -- by injecting digoxin into their hearts to kill them by inducing what amounts to a massive heart attack. He then induces labor and cremates their bodies in his very own full-size mortuary crematorium.
