The main graphic on your link reads: Burma Cyclone Help Now.

There hasn’t been a Cyclone to hit Burma in at least 20 years.

Did you see your lead post?

No, the “hate train” isn’t for the “good cause”, it’s for the mangled-looking lead post which spends remarkably little time promoting the cause (something about cans of food is all I got out of it) and the remaing balance trying to bump up your street creed. Responding to posters with “fn chill” etc. doesn’t help.

We’re not going to click on a link just because someone says to. There’s a lot of good causes out there; give us a reason to care about this one.

“Because you can’t click to help people? But you can waste your time spamming me about why that site is bad. Theres something wrong with your wiring friend.”

I posted that many people on this Conservative website probably already donate in a multitude of ways (including myself) and I only had posted once so I don't know what you mean with your odd complaint about spam. I am allowed to post my own opinion regardless of what others are posting. Your quick cheap insults tell plenty about your own wiring.

I’ve heard of this site before. In fact, almost 6 years ago now. It seems to have changed slightly, because I heard about it in a chat room, and spent the night chatting and clicking away. By the count that night, I think I “gave” over 100 pounds of food.

Now of course the site says “one click per day”. But if one simply goes back to the homepage, and then clicks it again, it still says the same thing: “Thank You — your click has been counted!
You have given the value of 1.1 cups of food to the hungry.
The ads below make The Hunger Site possible.”

Now of course it’s entirely possible that the site monitors IP addresses (and other identifiers possibly) to ensure only “one click a day” is counted.

But I’m still left with the question I was 6 years ago (even though then it didn’t say “only one click a day”): If we’re restricted in the number of clicks we can do to “pay for” this food, why would the site itself bother with keeping people “honest” about the number of clicks? If this site is as magnanimous as it claims, why would they care about keeping the total number of clicks “honest” and therefore DOWN? They may “tell” their sponsors they do that, but do they really?

And this really begs the other question. Are the sponsors really CONVINCED that the number of clicks is accurate? How could they be, if they aren’t the one’s doing the monitoring, and the site that is supposed to monitor them for “uniqueness” is obviously motivated to NOT keep accurate records?

I suppose it’s quite possible that if one actually visits the sponsors, or does some kind of business with THEM, then maybe some food might get donated. I really don’t see how clicking on a virtual button can possibly do this though; after all, if it really were “that easy”, then wouldn’t (or SHOULDN’T) this site be on every news program, and everyone everywhere should visit it daily? If it were “that easy”, then, by now (and remember I saw this 6 years ago), the world’s hunger problem would’ve (or again SHOULD HAVE) been SOLVED by now!

All of these questions lead me to believe that if someone only visits the site, and “clicks here to give”, and that’s all they do, all they are doing is making themselves feel good for “making a difference”, when in reality, all they are doing is seeing a computer tell them they did something, and that’s all.

Your lack of ability to spell correctly and apparent loss of the 'shift' key from your keyboard make your posts a pain in the a$$.

This seems to be your way of getting attention.

Hmmm, what about these donation sites linked to your post?

The Wilderness Society--LIBERAL ENVIROMENTAL NAZIS!

"Why NOT Drill in the Arctic Refuge

There are many reasons why Arctic Refuge drilling is a bad idea...from the destruction of a wildlife-rich and ecologically-sensitive environmnet to the speculative nature of oil development."

Or this one:

Or, we can save the rainforest:

That site is no different but, what a bitter bunch! I skip over many threads without commenting, the golden rule says ‘if you don;’t have anything nice to say- shaddup’ . Obviously this doesn;t apply here but this is far from a zot, it’s helping worthwhile causes. See a shrink.

. Do you see an irony in stating the golden rule, then saying at least two insults in the very same post ?

Also, the golden rule actually is: do unto others as you would have them do unto you...I guess you don't follow that version of it either.

You’ve gotten no “bitter” people at all, they’ve asked who are you? Are you seeking donations? If so provide some information instead of just a link, please.
There now, does that sound “bitter”?

I was so impressed with your replies that I'm setting up an automated program to click on the site as fast as it will accept clicks. This program is completely autonomous and will run 24/7. I dare say if a few months the entire rain forest will belong to the Nature Conservancy, breast cancer will be no more, and the world's hungry chubby and smooth faced.
The rest of you posters can relax and let my program handle the heavy lifting. Thank you.

Every day on my way home from work there is one particular traffic light that is taken over by a panhandling bum. She stands right in your car window sticks her gubby sign into your car window, and stares at you while she mouth-breathes until you give any reply at all. If your windows are rolled down, it’s likely she will spit on you.

It pi$$es me off.
If she can walk back and forth for hours on end each day then she can get a job too.

Now on FR we have a traffic light just like the one on the way home.
It is your vanity post.

It is unsolicited panhandling...and it is annoying, uninvited, and inappropriate for this site.

But that is just my opinon.
