So was my Father who was a highly decorated combat engineer in the Ardennes and Rhine campaigns (Patton). I miss my Father, however sometimes I am happy he is not alive to hear this crap from such evil trash. I was very angry when I posted this. Call this post therapy.

Haha! I remember 3 months ago how the Democrats were all laughing about what they thought was their embarrassment of riches - they had two (2)! candidates that everyone in the party loved. In his 2002 anti-war speech, Obama said the following:

“My grandfather signed up for a war the day after Pearl Harbor was bombed, fought in Patton’s army. He saw the dead and dying across the fields of Europe; he heard the stories of fellow troops who first entered Auschwitz and Treblinka. He fought in the name of a larger freedom, part of that arsenal of democracy that triumphed over evil, and he did not fight in vain.”

No mention of Uncle Red...

So who was the “he” he was referring to? Does the man even exist? Who is the “uncle”? A friend of the family? An urban legend?

According to the fox news article linked above, a request for clarification has been put to the Obama campaign.

It’ll probably be another case of something being “taken out of context”.

If you notice the article doesn't say anything about Obama saying his uncle helped liberate Auschwitz, just the reporter mentioning this is why he was in the attic. Also, This place has the video of it going down and says: LINK

No mention of Auschwitz in this video. Obama didn't talk about his uncle at all. So where did the reporter come up with that entire passage?

Apparently he mentioned something on a side talk after the speech. His words were "one of the first U.S. troops into Auschwitz".. How does that imply that his uncle liberated Auschwitz? I think some reporter made a false association.. we should all take a deep breath and look at the exact words.

I kinda expect the Obama campaign will come out saying he mispoke and then try to sugar coat the truth. And the MSM will follow this Pied Piper as he plays his tune. They are all (demo)rats being led to a watery grave.

I need to edit my post. My 15year old daughter alerted me to this. She is very smart so I can't say she represents most children of her age. She just did a family history for school going back four generations. She spent a great deal of effort on the family military history in WWII. I have to give credit where credit is due or I will never hear the end of it. ;-)

In that speech, he repeatedly says he is against dumb war and then goes on to trash Rove and others on the basis of what they are doing to the middle class. How does he take that personal attack on figures of the Bush administration to justify his assertion that the Iraq war was a “dumb war”?

We’d been waging a continued war with Saddam since 1991. Saddam Hussein repeatedly violated the terms of the peace agreement. Saddam was at war. We took it hot again in 1998. And Bill Clinton said that regardless of who was the next president, they would be left to deal with the issue.

If he is going to make a case, he needs to back it up with facts as to “why” it is a “dumb war” and why the tyranny of Saddam Hussein should have continued and why we should have permitted Saddam to CONTINUE to fund international terrorism (like he was doing in Israel).
