My dad was in the Pacific, too. He was in the Navy—navigator. He and Mama are 88.

My Dad, up front lower left.... Can you imaginge Alaska in 1942....they had a pet Moose. This was his first stop...served in 3 theatres of War...that ended at the Battle of the Bulge with two Purple Hearts.
One issue he stated repeatedly was how cold & wet they were all the time and how they admired the German cold weather boots......as opposed to the American one-size-fits-all at the time. We take so much for granted....
