They’re serious (even though they’re full of hooey). There’s some group of black separatists who believe that blacks discovered the New World and settled even before the Indians. They also believe that they are the true successors to the “Twelve Tribes” of the Old Testament, and that the Jews are usurpers and pretenders. They purport to believe that they are the true American natives, and they give themselves grandiosely ridiculous names and titles (and unlike some civic clubs, they do it in all seriousness). They also claim to be part of the “African Diaspora”. I believe that they also consider themselves a religion. I don’t remember what they call themselves, but I’ve read the views of some of their members on certain message boards. They’re hilarious, and they’re really “out there”, I mean like Heaven’s Gate cult “out there” (though I don’t think they’re in the least suicidal. Au contraire, they’d like to kill everyone else in the name of “taking back” their “ancestral lands” in the New World).
What does this say about the voters in her state that keep putting her into office. Pathetic at the least.
I wonder if the author has figured out how to make that rhythmic, melodic, sound that results from a continuous vocalization of a mid-range monotone while stroking the lower lip with the forefinger.
