BRONXVILLE, NY (AP) ― Oscar-winner Jessica Lange bashed the Bush administration and denounced the war in Iraq during a Friday commencement address at Sarah Lawrence College.
The star of "Tootsie" and "Blue Sky" was applauded by students at the small liberal arts college after comparing the conflict with the Vietnam War.
She said the graduates -- including her 22-year-old daughter Hannah Shepard -- have "a heavy burden" to chart a new path for the country.
"We are living in an America that, in the last seven and a half years, has waged an unnecessary war, established prison camps, condoned torture, employed corporate armies, eliminated the right of habeas corpus, practiced extraordinary rendition, and believe me, this is only a partial list," Lange said.
Lange asked the graduates to commit themselves to the "pursuit of peace."
In a few more years, she’ll look like Mary Tyler Moore does now!
Lange says she’s ashamed to be an American? I agree with her. I’m ashamed she’s an American too.

Why do schools invite idiots to speak at their commencement exercises? Is that supposed to make their graduates look smart by comparison?

That’ll come for sure after the same sex marriage law is passed. I read an article in a Dutch newspaper of someone advertising that his goat (yes, his goat) was for rent by the hour to have sex with. People who get paid for a certain "look" should not try to show off their brains.

If I had paid a fortune to send my kid to Sarah Lawrence only to have to sit through her graduation ceremony listening to this foul-mouthed lying communist hag insult our country, I think my head would explode.
But then I wouldn’t pay for my kid to go to that dump in the first place.

Really but the peace she was referring to is actually piece like piece of pie, cake, or chicken as her a$$ has grown quite large in her elderly years. Perhaps getting off that fat a$$ of hers and actually doing something rather than her personal pursuit of piece.
