Subway, the sandwich restaurant, wants to hear your child's story – unless he or she is homeschooled.
The national chain's "Every Sandwich Tells a Story Contest" offers prizes and a chance to be published on the Subway website and in Scholastic's "Parent & Child" magazine but specifically excludes homeschoolers:
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Contest is open only to legal residents of the Untied (sic) States who are currently over the age of 18 and have children who attend elementary, private or parochial schools that serve grades PreK-6. No home schools will be accepted.
Subway's website promotion not only misspells "United" States, but offers the grand prize winner a "Scholastic Gift Bastket (sic) for your home."
The 2007 winner of the Scripps National Spelling Bee was Evan O'Dorney, a 13-year old homeschool student from Danville, Calif.

Eggszackly.
Bowee-cot nwo!
What a bunch of idiots.
dang, that was hard to read! lol
ROYFLMAO!!!
well, then....NO ONE is able to enter in the UNITED States.
(Where are the "Untied States", anyway? I wuld ax my neeces and nefews...but they r homeskooled and wuldn't no.)
It looks like they have corrected the spelling errors:’)
I hope you saved it!
They must have seen the story and have changed the misspelling of “United States” to “US”.
The ad was probably written and proofed by a “product” of our government schools.
A beginning, a middle and an end?
This is far to demanding.
To be more inclusive, they should just require two out of three.
I think their nuts.
I much prefer Quisnose(I think that is the spelling)..that is if I am in the mood for a sand witch..
My e-mail advised them that I've passed it along to my two homeschooling sisters....who have extensive networks which will also be getting the same e-mail.
I also added that there are a few misspellings....and that they should have asked a homeschooler how to spell.
“Q”s are better IMO but are hard to get to. I’ll drive thru Subway for a Tuna before fighting for a parking space and having to go inside and wait in line.
I’m guessing Subway is either in negotiation or already has a deal with the NEA, promoting “healthy eating” (Remember, no junk food in gummint skools) that will be used to get more tax money for the skools.
Your tagline- I know that death of Bulunga joke- describes this election, does it not?
I love the part where they tell the kids to be “creative”.
And write about “random acts of fitness”, exercise, and eating right, playing sports,etc....
Imagine that, follow our liberal agenda and you qualify. Now that sure is being “creative”.
SUBWAY SUCKS! (Never did like their menu. Quiznos rules.)
No more double-meat BMTs for me.
