I was hoping to see more neon. Beer logos, preferably. But they score points for the hot tub.

Thanks for posting - I love looking at houses.

I believe the McCains may have moved since then, into a condo. Mrs. M. was on with Greta Van Susteren a few months back giving her a tour of the new place. There were downsizing, I guess.

The caption for photo #9 in their slide show reads as follows:

The initials “MC,” for “McCain,” were hand-carved into a mantelpiece made in Guadalajara for the master bedroom. The black-and-white cat was a gift to Senator McCain on his election to the Senate from Orson Swindle, a fellow P.O.W. in North Vietnam.

The "black and white cat" on the mantlepiece that they are referencing is most likely very familiar to Baby-Boomers, who will recognize that cat as Felix the Cat.

"Felix the Cat, The wonderful, wonderful cat. Whenever he gets in a fix, He reaches into his bag of tricks."

Fitting that a fellow POW would give a Felix the Cat to McCain. They all had to have had some "tricks in their bags" to survive imprisonment and torture at the hands of their Communist "hosts."

And it's not at all surprising that the elitist brains at Architectural Digest wouldn't know anything about Felix the Cat.

I noticed the Kachina collection. Barry Goldwater had a remarkable collection which, the last I knew, could be seen at Phoenix's Heard Museum.

Nice pool! I love the deep overhang on the patio!

We rented a home in Sedona back in 2000 that had a nice patio with an overhang like that. And though it didn't have a pool, it was on the 17th tee of the Oak Creek Country Club, with the red rock formations in the distance, so it was a nice view, and the air was always soft and moist in the back of the house, while in the front, it was hot and dry!
