NEW YORK (CBS) ― Police are mobilizing a massive presence in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn in the wake of increased tension between black and Jewish communities.
Leaders from both communities have come together recently to preach cooperation among residents of the neighborhood where blacks and Hassidic Jews live side by side. But recent violence has showed that religion and race don't always mix.
"I definitely feel [like there's unrest] because I see it everyday. I'm around here a lot and that's what I'm hearing," said Crown Heights resident Anthony Rios.
Another resident, Joe Morgenstein, agreed, saying he hears "a lot of racial slurs all day" in the community.
Since 1991, when riots broke out after a 7-year-old black boy was killed by a Hassidic driver, Crown Heights has been hurt off-and-on by periodic tension. In the past month, 20-year-old Andrew Charles, who is black, was beaten up, and the suspect is Jewish.

FDNY EMS and Hatzoloh ambulances came to the scene at the same time. FDNY took care of the kids and the police told Hatzoloh to get the Jewish driver out of there because of the mob.

That incident was a tragic automobile accident. Almost as if on cue, the jerk writing the story for CBS omitted that essential fact. Also omitted was that a another Hassidic man - not involved at all in that accident - was killed in the aftermath by a black mugger after Al Sharpton (the very same Sharpton who today is a widely respected "leader" in the national Democratic party and a TV personality) incited rioting with publicly aired antisemitic comments.
Excuse me but what does your account (not that it is accurate) have to do with the killing of Yankel Rosenbaum who was nowhere near the scene of the accident?
What does that hve to do with the uncurbed riots and crime that the Dinkins administration allowed to rage - black on Jew violence - for days?
And your account of the police is wrong too. The police have refused to call the latest incident anti-Semitism. News reports I have heard (Channel 11) referred to the prior incident thus: “A Jewish man killed a black child.” They did not even say it was a car accident.
Is your high estimation of the MSM applicable to Conservative issues as well?

I was asking because that’s what I heard about it. Everybody here seems very fast to jump to the worst opinion of me. Also, I said “PC police” - I wasn’t referring to the actual police. I was referring the sticklers for political correctness, who are omnipresent in the MSM.
