Last-minute update from Tom McClintock (CA-CD4)

Dear E-Team:

As much as I would like to think this campaign for the Republican nomination in the 4th Congressional district is over, it is not.

Although we still hold a sizeable lead, my opponent has unleashed the ugliest smear campaign I have seen in over 30 years in politics attacking both my integrity and my patriotism.  He has backed it with over $2.5 million of his personal fortune and actually bragged that he planned to “bury McClintock in money.”

But he hadn’t taken two things into account: the decency of the public and the devotion of supporters like you, who have made it possible for me to set everything straight.  We can’t match his money, but we don’t have to in order to get our basic message out.

To date, nearly 10,000 donors like you have contributed over $1.1 million in this battle over the heart and soul of our Republican party – an average contribution of just $110.  And that support has made it possible to maintain our lead going into the final lap of the campaign.

But we’re stretched to the breaking point to keep our ads on the air.  In fact, I’ve had to ask my campaign staff to hold off paying some of our bills for the primary election in order to keep at least a minimal presence on the air.

So, after we end this primary in a few days, I will still have bills to pay before we can move on to the general election.  Meanwhile, the Democrat is expected to have $1 million in the bank on election day.

That’s why I am asking for your urgent, last-minute help to make sure we can pay off our bills after June 3rd and at least begin the general election without carrying a debt.

As I have said all along, this district has become a referendum on the liberal congressmen who squandered Ronald Reagan’s legacy.  We’re within sight of winning that battle – I believe the Republicans of this district are poised to demand our party return to its traditional principles in no uncertain terms.  But then we have to take our Republican message to the general public, against a rested and well-funded Democrat.

With your help, I have every confidence that we can close this primary campaign with a resounding conservative victory and be ready to run a very strong general election this fall.

Please make an urgent online contribution of whatever you can to help as soon as possible.
I am counting on you.  Federal law limits campaign contributions to $6,900.  Contributions may also be mailed to:

McClintock for Congress
C/O Igor Birman
1029 K Street, Suite 44
Sacramento, CA 95814

Thank you for your faith and support through this crucial election.

Sincerely,

Tom McClintock

That RINO Ose has been running a relentless negative campaign against McClintock. Of course he can’t run on his own record because he is a RINO.

I’m from Kentucky; but I sent in some money...I’ll always support conservatives over Rinos.

One strange plus to the possibility of a complete Republican Party collapse on November 4 is the fact that many of the Republican defeats will also include the defeat of many RINOs at every political level.

A former head of the Placer County Republicans fully supports McClintock over Ose. McClintock has always been very conservative and “tells it like it is.” McClintock has my vote and support.

Fortunately I live in the third district (Lungren-R-CA), but I only live a few blocks from the edge of the 4th.

I was non-committal on the race until I heard Ose’s latest advert on the radio. He goes on and on about how troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are in such horrific conditions and then says - meanwhile Tom McClintock is taking government funds for his drive to work of only 14 miles. Anyone using the conditions on the ground in a war zone for political gain doesn’t deserve my support.

Not to mention - what kind of idiot actually thinks that CA state budget allowances and expenditures have any bearing on FEDERAL funding of the war?

I can’t vote for Tom, but I can support him.

It could be a much needed cleansing. I was depressed about the outlook of this election, but everything happens for a reason I suppose.

There was an ad on radio this morning that suggested Ose was tough on immigration issues. That's not what I remember, I was no fan of Ose.

At the time I was in his district. His staff would never respond to any of communications. I did manage to get some communications by calling his local office.

Ose scores 0% by FAIR on immigration issues

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is a national, non-profit, public interest membership organization.

That’s obvious now. I’m sorry I ever supported Arnold, the RINO, who sleeps with a Liberal. California is so far down the toilet bowl, the stench of rotting Liberals is overpowering.

It's true and I hope some of my friends are thorougly embarrassed by what that bastard Ose is doing!!! It's just hideous!!! Some of the stuff makes the old Primary battle of 1996 between Uhler and Oller look really tame IMO!!!

I'm going up to Georgetown, CA Saturday afternoon to see McClintock!!!

Oh! Speaking of Uhler, he’s one of my friends, as is his father that I hope are now embarrassed by their new-found flakey friend, Ose, the insipid, vapid, obsessive/compulsive liar!!!

Actually the PRESENT Chairman of the Placer County Republican Party, Tom Hudson supports McClintock and has even recorded radio commercials for him.

Didja notice that Rico Oller is supporting McClintock big time? Does that shine a bit of a light on that ages old conflict.

You can tell a man by the can of Skoal that leaves a ring on his back pocket. Rico's got one, Dougsey and little Kirk don't.
