“She is now at the ball—dancing with the Prince of Peace. May God fill the Chapman family with His mercy and grace.”
Be sure to read the posts to this Youtube.
If you’ve ever listened to Contemporary Christian radio you’ve heard him. This one goes a ways back but it’s probably one of his most well known songs.

So awful. I pray for them, and for their son. Now he will really learn about Grace and unconditional love. May God hold them tight in their time of need.
I’d also recommend:

I Will Be Here (you’ve heard this at countless weddings no doubt!)
Thank God this family loves the Lord.
They’ll need the comfort that only He can give.
Playing “Cinderella” on XM 32, The Message right now as I write this response. Very, very sad.
How terrible. Prayers for the family. I can’t imagine what they all must be going through right now.
Another heartbreaking story. There are no words.
God bless the entire family especially the brother. :(

Oh, how sad...heartfelt prayers from Michigan.
What an awful way to headline this.
Here are links to his site if anyone wants to post condolences, plus a video of him singing about his adoption experiences.

Just horrible. Unspeakably horrible. The whole family slashed with a wound that will never be healed in this life. Prayers for all: especially the poor boy at the wheel.
Prayers for Steven Curtis Chapman and his family, especially his son. SCC is a great witness for Christ through his contemporary Christian music and his family’s burden for providing a loving Christian home for these children.
My Favorite SCC song, “Not Home Yet.” Prayers for his daughter is now home.
(Steven Curtis Chapman)
To all the travelers
Pilgrims longing for a home
From one who walks with you
On this journey called life’s road
It is a long and winding road
From one who’s seen the view
And dreamt of staying on the mountains high
And one who’s cried like you
Wanting so much just to lay down and die
I offer this, we must remember this
We are not home yet
We are not home yet
Keep on looking ahead
Let your heart not forget
We are not home yet
Not home yet
So close your eyes with me
And hear the Father saying, “welcome home”
Let us find the strength
In all His promises to carry on
He said, “I go prepare a place for you”
So let us not forget
We are not home yet
We are not home yet
Keep on looking ahead
Let your heart not forget
We are not home yet
We are not home yet
Keep on looking ahead
Let your heart not forget
We are not home yet
I know there’ll be a moment
I know there’ll be a place
Where we will see our Saviour
And fall in His embrace
So let us not grow weary
Or too content to stay
‘Cause we are not home yet
We are not home yet
Not home yet
So let us journey on
We are not home yet
We are not home yet
Keep on looking ahead
Let your heart not forget
We are not home yet
Not home yet
I can see why some people aren’t big fans, but when he hits the mark, he hits it. “I’m Free,” “When You Are A Soldier” are musically and lyrically astounding, and the lyrical content in many of his songs is eloquent and real. Whether they’re Shakespeare or not, these lines from “I Will Go There With You” have always captured for me way a real man offers his strength to the woman he loves:
“I will take a heart whose nature
Is to beat for me alone
And fill it up with you
Make all your joy and pain my own”
I’d like to note that one of his albums has a song called “Maria.” It’s not about his daughter because it was written about 13 years before she was born, but I do wonder if it didn’t have something to do with her having that name.
