DNC Wants Food In Convention Colors

Many caterers are cheering eco-friendly requirements for menus at events hosted by the Denver 2008 Host Committee during the Democratic National Convention, but some see them as a challenge.
A request for catering proposals for events sponsored by the Host Committee asks for no fried foods; no individual plastic containers for liquids; reusable, recyclable or compostable plates; and local or organic food -- or both.
Another request is for food to be in at least three of the following five colors: red, green, yellow, blue/purple, and white.
One caterer warned that going organic could double prices.
Still, caterers agree that organizers' commitment to going green during the convention is laudable.
The event is set for Aug. 25th to 28th in Denver.

They are trying to set an example. They will bankrupt themselves for stupid ideas in the same way they plan to bankrupt the country with even worse ideas. Algore the manbearpig will be floating in his heated pool eating blue food (al says I don’t want food any other color, blue is the color of cold ice...without global warming) as he watches the country burn.

Several conventions ago, word got out that the Dems ordered that their rostrum be decorated not in the traditional red, white, and blue; but rather in salmon, eggshell, and azure, slightly toned-down colors deemed more TV-friendly. The GOP had a fun time with that news, declaring that there would be no "pastel patriotism" at their convention.
Yes, the Obama camp will be throwing arugula and waffles. Hillary’s camp will be throwing empty beer and liquor bottles and battling with brooms.
With Dean and Barry running the show, I'd think CCCP Red would suffice.

What you will notice...is that southern democrats quietly leave the area after business and hang out at real restaurants in the Denver area...eating ribs, chicken and steak. At least 30 percent of this convention won’t mingle in such a atmosphere and eat weird food. Its curious that the party would allow some nuts like this to get on the food committee and allow this to become a major story.

Most likely, since the convention’s in Saint Paul, they’re probably going to have walleye, wild rice soup and potatoes, the fare of the area.
They can have blue potatoes, chicken alfredo and beets. Or to suck up to their favorite potential voter base, they can have fajitas with blue tortillas, white potatoes and red peppers with chorizos.
Hospital food!
