Yes, a malignant glioma in the upper parietal, I forget which side. Average prognosis 18 mos., depending on type of glioma and its progression. —Fox News MD

It ought to be interesting to see how this is treated, and I don't mean in a medical sense. You may have noticed the way that Lee Atwater has been treated in the MSM over the years since his death. Reviled while alive, he only became a source of wisdom for purposes of the press when he regretted his hardball politics and implicitly criticized some conservatives while on his deathbed. Something tells me that if Kennedy is terminal, this will be conflated into a massive effort for national health care. Not that his developing such a tumor has anything to do with it, but merely that it will be converted into a cause (The Edward Kennedy National Health Bill of 200x", etc.) Stay tuned.

I haven’t read all the comments,
but I’m sure the contrast of the comments on FR vs those on the leftwing sites would be demonstrative if the person in question were Bush or some other conservative icon.
Heck, I don’t have to conjecture - just dig up their comments from when Reagan died.

I just can’t wait to see who Deval appoints to take over .... but then Ted could be a blithering idiot on life support and they’d let him keep his office.

Suppose that Senator Kennedy is no longer able to perform his job (yes, I will hold the jokes). Devil Patrick will appoint another wild leftist to replace Kennedy. Dems lose seniority, but other than that it is business as usual in Mass.

“Glioma blastoma rates at the top of aggressive brain tumors with very poor prognosis.”
Is that what he has? No, not good at all. Has anyone heard the size?

I am leaving aside personal feelings, so do not think this is meant to be vicious. It’s more making fun of yahoo’s poor word placement. I went to check my yahoo mail and the headline was cut off so it read Doctors say Senator Kennedy has a brain...
That said, I hope for the best for him.

I pray he is right with God before this is all over...

I lost my mother-in-law seven months ago to angiosarcoma that was caught too late. In six months she went from a bit of anemia and a sore back to dying while hooked to a ventilator after multiple surgeries.
This transcends politics and moves into the realm of simple humanity. I’ll be praying for Senator Kennedy to make a recovery from this, because this is something I just can’t bear to see anybody dealing with—even someone who I disagree with as violently as I do Teddy.

This is sad news, for him and everyone else.
I’m surprised that they didn’t see this when he had his carotid surgery not long ago- or maybe they did, and kept it quiet a la Steve Jobs.
Prayers for him and his family. Win or lose he faces an unpleasant time.
