IRAN IS A 'TINY' THREAT??

IRAN IS A 'TINY' THREAT??

According to Barack Obama, there is no need to worry about the "tiny" threat from countries like Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, etc. You see, we don't have to worry about them because they aren't as big of a threat as we faced during the Cold War with the Soviet Union. Here's the quote, "Iran, Cuba, Venezuela — these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don't pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us. And yet we were willing to talk to the Soviet Union at the time when they were saying, `We're going to wipe you off the planet.'"

That's interesting because I do recall Iran threatening to wipe Israel off the face of the planet. I do recall Iran developing a nuclear program. I do recall Iran offering its nuclear expertise to other Muslim countries. I do recall Iran funding and training terrorists that are killing American troops in Iraq.

Oh and by the way, this threat from Iran is all George Bush's fault, according to Barack Obama. Well guess what, it wasn't George Bush's fault when Muslim terrorists decided to attack our country in September 2001. Rather than "talk" and appease the enemy – radical Islam – George Bush stood up and defended the greatest country in the world with the greatest military.

Yes, Barack Obama, Iran is a threat to the United States because it is engulfed in a religion of hate. It is ruled by a mad mullah who wants nothing more than to extinguish the Western way of life – all of those homosexuals they don't have over there, for example.

Not recognizing your enemy is just as bad as not fighting it to begin with. John McCain has already called out Obama on this statement. He says that this statement shows the depth of Obama's inexperience and reckless judgment.

Are you going to feel all that comfortable with Obama as our commander in chief? Sorry .. not me.

Mohammedans with nuke programs are just about the most dire threat facing the world. Seems liberals are more concerned with our own nuclear arsenal.

Iran is a "tiny" threat and Barrack who is Hussein Obama is just the one to negotiate away that tiny thing...NOT!

Hopefully our countrymen will wake up to just what Obama really represents.

It's change alright...but not change the vast majority of us ever want to see inflicted on this nation or its people.

AUDACITY OF TRUTH-BARACK NEVILLE HUSSEIN CHAMBERLAIN OBAMA

Barack Hussein Obama is the very apex of the anti-American, internal enemy in this country. IMHO, his election as President would be the greatest coup an enemy has ever scored against our nation, and could well turn into the greatest disaster this nation has ever faced.

Yet another straw man. When are people going to learn? One of these days someone is going to ship a nuke into a harbor. Then it will be too late.

Obama and his advisors know full well that Iran, Russia, China and that nut case in Venezuela (Chavez) are all in this together. This guy is extremelly dangerous and is NOT naive in this regard. He and the leftist democrat party want to deliberately weaken the U.S. position on the world stage. They've been Moscow's puppets for more than half a century now.

From WorldThreats.com:
"Chavez pledged that his country would 'stay by Iran at any time and under any condition,' state television reported. Ahmadinejad said he saw in Chavez a kindred spirit." "'We do not have any limitation in cooperation,' Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying. 'Iran and Venezuela are next to each other and supporters of each other. Chavez is a source of a progressive and revolutionary current in South America and his stance in restricting imperialism is tangible.'":

From National Public Radio (NPR):
"Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has been visiting countries such as China, Iran and Russia as part of an effort to build a 'strategic alliance' of interests not beholden to the United States. He considers the United States his arch enemy.":

From the Sino-Russian Joint Statement of April 23, 1997:
"The two sides [China and Russia] shall, in the spirit of partnership, strive to promote the multipolarization of the world and the establishment of a new international order." http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Central_Asia/HI29Ag01.html

From the Russian News and Information Agency:
"'I am determined to expand relations with Russia,' Chavez, known as an outspoken critic of what he calls the United States' unilateralism, told the Russian leader, adding that his determination stemmed from their shared vision of the global order.":

Russia, China flex muscles in joint war games
Reuters: Aug 17, 2007

CHEBARKUL, Russia (Reuters) - Russia and China staged their biggest joint exercises on Friday but denied this show of military prowess could lead to the formation of a counterweight to NATO.

"Today's exercises are another step towards strengthening the relations between our countries, a step towards strengthening international peace and security, and first and foremost, the security of our peoples," Putin said.

Fighter jets swooped overhead, commandos jumped from helicopters on to rooftops and the boom of artillery shells shook the firing range in Russia's Ural mountains as two of the largest armies in the world were put through their paces.

The exercises take place against a backdrop of mounting rivalry between the West, and Russia and China for influence over Central Asia, a strategic region that has huge oil, gas and mineral resources.

Russia's growing assertiveness is also causing jitters in the West. Putin announced at the firing range that Russia was resuming Soviet-era sorties by its strategic bomber aircraft near NATO airspace.

New Pentagon Report: China's Growing Military Space Power
By Leonard David
Special Correspondent, SPACE.com
March 6, 2008

GOLDEN, Colorado — A just-released Pentagon report spotlights a growing U.S. military concern that China is developing a multi- dimensional program to limit or prevent the use of space-based assets by its potential adversaries during times of crisis or conflict.

Furthermore, last year's successful test by China of a direct-ascent, anti-satellite (ASAT) weapon to destroy its own defunct weather satellite, the report adds, underscores that country's expansion from the land, air, and sea dimensions of the traditional battlefield into the space and cyber-space domains.

Although China's commercial space program has utility for non- military research, that capability demonstrates space launch and control know-how that have direct military application. Even the Chang'e 1 — the Chinese lunar probe now circling the Moon — is flagged in the report as showcasing China's ability "to conduct complicated space maneuvers — a capability which has broad implications for military counterspace operations."

Obama Pledges Cuts in Missile Defense, Space, and Nuclear Weapons Programs

February 29, 2008 :: News
MissileThreat.com

A video has surfaced of Presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama talking on his plans for strategic issues such as nuclear weapons and missile defense.

The full text from the video, as released, reads as follows:

Thanks so much for the Caucus4Priorities, for the great work you've been doing. As president, I will end misguided defense policies and stand with Caucus4Priorities in fighting special interests in Washington.

First, I'll stop spending $9 billion a month in Iraq. I'm the only major candidate who opposed this war from the beginning. And as president I will end it.[i.e. not win it]

Second, I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending.

I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems.

I will not weaponize space.

I will slow our development of future combat systems.

And I will institute an independent "Defense Priorities Board" to ensure that the Quadrennial Defense Review is not used to justify unnecessary spending.

Third, I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop new nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material; and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert, and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenals.

You know where I stand. I've fought for open, ethical and accountable government my entire public life. I don't switch positions or make promises that can't be kept. I don't posture on defense policy and I don't take money from federal lobbyists for powerful defense contractors. As president, my sole priority for defense spending will be protecting the American people. Thanks so much.

Obama Promises to Dismantle Our Armed Forces
by Robert Maginnis
Posted 04/10/2008 ET

(Mr. Maginnis is a retired Army lieutenant colonel, a national security and foreign affairs analyst for radio and television and a senior strategist with the U.S. Army)

YouTube has an undated 52-second clip of Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barrack Obama outlining his plans for America’s national defense. Obama’s presentation demonstrates either total naivete about important national security programs or he is just pandering for votes among the extreme left.
http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?print=yes&id=25942

Note: Although I sent Human Events the ORIGINAL youtube video several weeks ago (original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o84PE871BE ) and asked that they replace the copy they refer to (copy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl32Y7wDVDs ), they still have not yet done so. The original comes directly from the Obama camp itself and so is a lot more credible (some people (mostly liberals) have accused it (the copy) of being a fake). In any case, Col Maginnis does an excellent in-depth must read analysis of Obama's proposed defense policies (see: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?print=yes&id=25942).

“If Iran is the threat why did we take out Iraq, their enemy?”

you've been around FR for over a decade and you ask a question like that?

for the record, we LIBERATED Iraq and “took out” Saddam Hussein...and as far as Iran is concerned, Iran's nuclear facilities are what needs to be “taken out”...of course if the Nutjob happens to be in the line of fire; that wouldn't be all bad either...now would it.

Got it?

Good...glad I could be of some assistance. LOL

Did not Iran attack the US consulate in Iran and imprison US diplomats for about two years? Oh wait, that was during Jimmy Carter’s term, so Bush can not be at fault. Never mind. /S

Good point, now add in the fact that Obamao wants to invade the only Muslim country that actually has nuclear weapons, as well as his “tiny threat” misses the angry fact that Iranians are providing the Tech and training that is killing our men and women in Iraq on a routine basis and it’s pretty clear that this dim bulb does not know what the heck he is talking about on a level that is dangerous for the US and our military.

IMO -

Iran, Syria, North Korea and Venezuela actually pose MORE of a threat for REAL trouble than the USSR ever did.

Both the Soviets and the U.S. knew that, given the size and power of each side’s nuclear arsenal, a nuclear war between the two superpowers would be an absolute horror-show for everyone on the planet. This made itchy trigger finger types on both sides think twice (or even three times) about a “first strike” by their side.

The small tin-horn dictatorships with two or three relatively small “nukes” will have no such compunctions about starting something.

Iran isn't "the" threat, it's one of the threats. (There can be more than one threat, you know).

Don't fret, snookie. Taking out" Iran won't involve any nation-building or occupation. The prime concern/target, for good reason, is their nuke facilities.

The USSR never actually attacked American citizens on a mass basis, that I recall. But thousands of Americans are dead from terror attacks. If Iran is not a threat then Obama is not a leader. Heaven help us.

What is with these democratic Presidential candidates and bullcrap like this?

Clinton did it (I never touched that woman). Kerry did it (Swift boat). And now it looks like Obama will continue this time (dis)honored way of telling the people what they want to hear...
