Combining his Charles Keating episode with Campaign Finance Reform and his proclivity to join Democrats to seal his deals, and I don't want this charlatan anywhere near the decision making process concerning these issues... or any other issues for that matter.

Argh. Didn’t someone just step down from his campaign for this reason? It took until now?

Good job Bob! Good read.....McCain has made his share of mistakes...(haven’t we all...)...but no more than others....he’ll make a fine President.

The problem is not just earmarks. They're a drop in the bucket. The real problem is all the money Congress appropriates in violation of Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution.

For those with short memories, CFR was the Global Warming of the day. Republicans were being relentlessly pounded every day in the media as being funded by corrupt businessmen and vested interests. To no small extent the media were right.
To the degree that the media were wrong, the Republicans could offer no cogent reply. There was Abramoff after Abramoff. Delay and crew could only look up with chocolate all over their faces and say no, they din't eat no chocolate.
Right or wrong CFR sure took the pressure off.
