I know Obama is getting record crowds, estimated as high as 75,000 in Portland, OR. But is curiosity the same thing as support? Are these massive crowds going to vote en masse?

Obama is a draw, but is he selling liberalism like never before or are liberals simply coming out like never before? Given some of his more ludicrous statements one has to wonder how many Americans are ready for his hard core liberal stances:
Pitching his message to Oregons environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to lead by example on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.
We cant drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times
and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK, Obama said.
Thats not leadership. Thats not going to happen, he added.
SInce when is leadership kowtowing down to the worlds biases (usually generated by a malicious and liberal news media)? America is not killing the planet. As I noted in another post if you look at where the global warming IS, it is not over the American continents - it is over Asia where most of the human population lives.

And of course there is William Ayers and his friends who want POWER and will use any reason to acquire it:
**************************************************
Its difficult to imagine they are so blatantly antiAmerican!
See this :
Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left

And a review:
**********************************
I had long wondered why people on the Left had the propensity to speak more positively about people who would slit their throats than they do about their own country, which affords them more freedom and opportunity than anywhere else. David Horowitz has answered that question thoroughly and convincingly in his Unholy Alliance. Where I felt bewildered and confused, I now feel crystal clear. Unholy Alliance is such a great book.
It begins with the leftist movements at the beginning of the 20th Century, and works its way up to the present day, exploring the anti-American attitude of these movements in detail. Horowitz shows that the enemies of the US back then are largely the same group today, operating under the same misperceptions, making the same mistakes, and pursuing the same impossible utopia.
Individual chapters are included on the Patriot Act (I was persuaded that it is a GOOD thing); the democratic flip-flop on Iraq once G.W. Bush implemented what they agreed with Clinton needed to be done; the driving components of the current anti-war movement; as well as chapters on individual personalities who are major spokespeople of the Left. Horowitz covers a lot of ground, and he covers it concisely and clearly. Unholy Alliance is richly informative without ever being boring or plodding.
This book is so illuminating that I simply cannot do justice to it here. I love people who reason so clearly that they help me get my own reasoning clear. Horowitz is just that type of person! In the terrain of mindless clichés (no-blood-for-oil, etc.), he is a breath of real fresh air.

No, you’re not nuts.
As a small business owner, i felt it necessary to attend one of those ‘green economy’ conferences. It was totally anti-captialism.
The green collar jobs they promote is through the EPA, watchman for businesses.
For the inner city, “Replace their handguns with caulk guns”
Of course, to get this started they’re gonna need government mandates (voluntary of course, at first) The Carbon Taxes will end many small businesses. Surcharges on gross receipts don’t sound like much, but 3% off the top is a killer. (They don’t want caps and trades. Some may have more than others and that wouldn’t be ‘fair’)
Put American Business on that Endangered Species list.

So many Ron Paul supporters are going the way of Obama. The support for this man is overwhelming and frightening.
One of the things that keep me from crawling on the ledge (besides the checks and balances of our Constitution) is that this country is racist, and white racists aren’t going to “allow” him to become president if they can help it.

He acts like it’s a zero sum game, that we have all these things because we’ve taken them away from someone else. That’s ridiculous.

Wishful thinking. Why would anyone go and see someone they wouldn’t consider voting for?

“The guys a fool.”
Which is a moot point considering all the fools who are going to vote for him.

Obama isn't the only politician who could attract cheering crowds.

Wishful thinking. Why would anyone go and see someone they wouldnt consider voting for? You never heard of scouting the enemy? If I wanted to find something to nail my political opponent with, I darn well wouldn't rely on ABCNBSCBSCNNFNC to tell me what he said at a political speech. I'd want to be there and hear (and record) it for myself.

lead by example on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries. Actually the USA is probably holding its own in new tech, not that the new tech amounts to a hill of beans, but the developing countries are doing fairly well with new tech and will probably go to non-petrofuel cars before the USA does and will export these tech wonders to the USA rather than vice versa.

Someone needs to ask Al Gore what he thinks about this.
