Let Kline run for lots of fun
Kansas City Star ^ | 5/19/08 | Mike Hendricks

... What is beyond debate is that, with Kline, it has been one thing after another. So I can fully understand why Kansas GOP officials are throwing fits over news that Kline may renege on his promise to sit out this year’s election.

Imagine their horror upon learning of the draft-Kline movement. And that it’s entirely possible he will run for a full term as Johnson County district attorney.

Or at least won’t rule it out.

Oh. My. God!

I don't know if Hendricks knows something or if he's letting his anti-Phill biased imagination run away with him, but if Kline runs then one of two things is going to happen:
1) He runs in the primary, gets humiliated in the primary, and slinks off into retirement. Steve Howe goes onto the general election favored, but weakened. Or:
2) Phill runs as an independent and the Democrats win the JoCo DA's office.

Either way, Phill is the answer to the Democrat's prayers.

Who is Kline? Who is JoCo? Who is Hendricks? Who is Howe? Who is Phill?

Kline - Phill Kline, Johnson County DA. He was Kansas Attorney General when the Johnson County DA, Paul Morrison, changed parties, ran against him in 2006, and beat Phill in the general election. The JoCo Republicans then appointed Phill to fill out Morrisons remaining two year as DA. Morrison later got caught shagging his secretary and resigned in disgrace.

JoCo - Johnson County, Kansas. Suburban Kansas City.

Hendicks - liberal columnist in the Kansas City Star.

Steve Howe - Republican former senior member of the Johnson County DA office. When Morrison was elected, Howe ran to replace him. The local Republican Party is badly split between factions and appointed Phill by a narrow margin. Phill promptly fired Howe. Howe has the support of most of the county GOP for the 2008 election.

Phill - Phill Kline, see above. For a while we had two Phillip Klines in the state legislature. To differentiate between them, we identify them as one-l Phil and two-l Phill.

Clear now?

Phill Kline is pro-life District Attorney in Johnson County, KS, a Kansas City suburb.

Kline was formerly Kansas Attorney General.

Lost reelection battle for Attorney General to the former Johnson County District Attorney, Paul Morrison.

Morrison changed to the Democratic Party to run for that office.

Hendricks is a writer for the Kansas City Red Star.

Kline was appointed by the County GOP to fill the remainder of Morrison’s term.

Kline is currently conducting an investigation of Planned Parenthood and abortions of minors.

Hope this helps.

It’s also well-known that Non-seq is the biggest Phill Kline hater on FR, if not the state of Kansas... he also is the biggest fan (on FR) of and apologist for Chilean Communist dictator and paid Soviet agent Salvador Allende (Non-Seq, not Kline). He believes nothing is wrong with either stance. Que sera sera.

Hardly the biggest, but I freely admit that I recognize Phill for the boob he is. But since most of the voters in Kansas have done the same I can hardly take credit for that.

he also is the biggest fan (on FR) of and apologist for Chilean Communist dictator and paid Soviet agent Salvador Allende

And your love of totalitarian regimes is duly noted. Especially corrupt ones.

And your ignorance of Kansas politics is also duly noted.

Do you really want to fight this argument again ? How many times do you want your butt handed to you, guy ? ;-)

Still a legend in your own mind, I see. The next time you do that will also be the first.

But, for the record, can I assume that you are insane enough to believe that Phill could possibly win election to his own term as JoCo DA?

"Still a legend in your own mind, I see."

Still projecting, I see. ;-)

"The next time you do that will also be the first."

If I had a dime for every time I and others on here did that on a multitude of subjects, we could buy a brand new car. ;-)

It's already been well-established that if he does or if he doesn't, he's one of those rare individuals of whom is better than the people he serves, present company included. ;-)

Like I said, a legend in your own mind.

Then haul his sorry ass out to Tennessee and have him run for something out there. He may be ethically better than your Ford family, but on the same level in terms of competence.

Like I said, you have absolutely no understanding of Kansas politicians OR Kansas politics.

Hey, babe, look, we get it. You don’t like losing the argument. But personally, nobody around here particularly cares either what you think, nevermind what you have to say. But, I do urge some psychiatric treatment for your acute case of KDS (Kline Derangement Syndrome), perhaps the first diagnosed case on FR. Given that apparently only you and the esteemed Paul Morrison have suffered from it, that tends to say more about you than it does about Mr. Kline. Have a nice day, hun. ;-)

Hey, babe, look, we get it.

Noooo, I don't think you do. But it'll come to you sooner or later. Maybe.

But personally, nobody around here particularly cares either what you think, nevermind what you have to say.

A case of the pot calling the kettle black if ever there was one.

But, I do urge some psychiatric treatment for your acute case of KDS (Kline Derangement Syndrome), perhaps the first diagnosed case on FR.

Another brilliant DJ diagnosis on yet another matter you know nothing about, though I agree that Kline and Deranged are commonly found in the same sentence. You don't know Phill, you don't know anything about Phill except that he meets the one qualification of conservative in your book - anti-abortion. Well forgive me if I remain underwhelmed at your pontificating.

No. But I also had no respect for Pinochet, much to the FieldMarshal's dismay since he apparently worshiped him. And even worse, I don't think much of his hero, Phill Kline.
