I found an article from an MSNBC reporter, from about a month ago.

Most here know what side of the debate I have been on.

But.... I like to keep an open mind, and read as much as I can. Older articles can be more informative, sometimes.

So, here, is a report about the 'rumors' about the FLDS, from the FLDS members themselves.

If you want all the facts, you have to look at all of them, even the ones you don't like.

The California Supreme Court ruling in favor of gay marriage opens the door to all other forms of heretofore unacceptable marriage arrangements. I actually hope advocates for one or more of the other non-traditional marriage types brings legal action now that the most populous state in the nation has spit on traditional marriage. I'm interested in seeing where the Left will draw the line in its push to destroy societal norms, if they ever do draw line somewhere.

They drink coffee, which I know many mainstream Mormons don’t do. I was shocked when they offered me a cup, but happy to drink it (they avoid carbonated and sugary drinks, but have no problem with caffeine).

Their diet is interesting - I also have read that they eat no processed foods, and have raw milk. It is noticable, and in great contrast to the ordinary communities around them, that none of them seem to be obese.

The state of Texas has crossed a few more lines in the past few weeks. They imprisoned innocent adults without due process. So far two of the “minors” have been released after having proven themselves to be legal adults. In one case the young lady had produced both her birth certificate and drivers license as proof of age. The state of Texas refused to recognize these documents as proof of her age and continued to hold her in illegal captivity. They have since released this young lady and one more who was in similar circumstances. Texas now admits that up to twenty more “minors” held in mandated captivity without due process and without any charges of wrongdoing against them may be in fact legal adults.
That new little bitty line that Texas has crossed in this mess is the god given and constitutionally guaranteed right of freedom!!!!!!!!!
CAN WE ALL SAY CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATIONS????? The civil litigation of this last little blunder is going to be costly to the tax payers down that way. They forcefully took adults from their homes and have admittedly held them without charges even after the offered proof of their age. If you were asked to prove your age and they did not allow you to use your birth certificate of driver license to do so how would, or could you prove your age????? This bucket of worms is about to turn carnivorous and start eating some Texas officials alive. By the way all of this information has come to light from comments and statements of the officials in Texas. These are all their own admissions.

I’ve seen a lot of posts making snide comments about the dresses of the FLDS women.

Why no snide comments about the dresses of the Amish or Memmonite women?

Does it ever occur to you that Carolyn Jessop might not be a reliable source? Even CBS sometimes requires corroboration.

There is testimony from many ex-FLDS, including many of the thrown out teen boys, that corroborates and expands on Jessop’s information.

I think the info from the ex-members is the most believable, myself.

I don’t particularly believe the cult members, and I have a reasonable skepticism of the CPS. But the ex-members, male and female, old and young, related and not related, even from separate states, all back each other up fairly well. I find very convincing.

Why wouldn’t Carolyn be a reliable source? Then I suppose Flora Jessops isn’t either. Along with any other former FLDS members even those not in Warren’s group yet members of the FLDS? Although they have told their stories we shouldn’t believe them? These people such as Brent Jeffs, Kathy Jo Nicholson,Elissa Wall,Marvin Wyler,Richard Holm,Isaac Wyler,Jenny Larson,John Llewellyn,Rowenna Erickson, Teressa Blackmore,Sara Hammon, Wendell Musser,Fawn Broadbent, Johnny Jessop, Laurene Jessop or anybody else who has left the FLDS & told their stories. We just should say they are bitter & liars hmmm? They stories are just not reliable right?

What’s up with the 1940’s pompadours? And how do they get their hair to stand up like that?
Add the prairies dresses and they’re early rockabilly. Sure it looks a tad fetishistic, but it would be a welcome fad after all the years of over-exposed tart styles.
(I live in an area of PA with more than its share of seniors. If I went out dressed like that, the old duffers here would be charging up San Juan Hill for a glimpse of ankle.)
