"It's almost like a military fight," said Jayson Ahern, the deputy commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. "I don't think that generally the American public has any sense of the level of violence that occurs on the border."
and obviously neither does GWB...sooner or later we are going to have to secure BOTH borders and "take out the trash!"

"Plato o plomo." As they say in Mexico, its the bullet or the handout. Guess which one the cops take.

And Special Order Forty will protect the criminals more than it will protect any US citizen.
It is like the authorities who pushed and called for that insanity, want American citizens to die.

“Drug Cartels to Mexican Police: ‘Join Us or Die’”
Not a far stretch to “Radical Islam to the rest of us: Join us or Die”
Mexico is our Palestine. The Cartels own the I-5 west coast corridor already. Not to mention the S.W.

Merely propaganda.. The Mexican govt has been penerated by the drug cartels for decades.. The Mexican govt “IS” the Drug cartels ALREADY.. The question is how much of the American federal govt they own NOW... and How much does an American President COST???..

Here (Mexico), the taboo on cop-killing familiar to Americans seems hardly to apply. Bush, McCain and the Republican leadership are busily trying to import this into the US.

I am not a libertarian but I have come to believe that our government's drug policies are creating this problem and many others. (The distortion of our law enforcement effort and the huge, ineffective anti-drug bureaucracy.) by not allowing any legal way of providing drugs to the people who want them. (the only possible exception being Medical Marijuana programs. We have to create a legal, controlled drug distribution system. Prohibition did not work for alcohol and it does not work for drugs.

Not true. They may won the southern part of the state but Northern Ca and most of Oregon are as rural as Wyoming and just as well armed. The CHP’s make major drug busts alone I-5 all the time without any exchange of gunfire. The local S O's dearly love to raid the pot gardens and chase the Mexican nationals to ground.
I think you have us confused with the unarned socialist run cities of southern ca.
The trick isn't to shoot back.
The trick is to see the threat and shoot first.

Too late for that.
Let's start with the MOABs, and build the wall later.
